Title: JEEP-Fest
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on August 27, 2005, 21:49:38
When I was on my way to the Yorkshire Dales this morning & reached the south-eastern end of Bradford there were a fair few signs up for the said event at Tong.

Quite a few JEEPs around when I came back through about 11:15/11:20 & plenty heading west on the M62 heading towards jct 27

JEEP Club UK (http://www.jeepclub.co.uk/event.cfm?id=274)
Tong site (http://www.parkwood4x4.co.uk/)

then. of course, there's the Rubi-Tong (http://rubi-tong.co.uk/welcome.html) sections

Did anyone attend??

I've been before to a JEEP-Fest, just after the 'Rubi' was built.
It's only about 15minutes from me,& I used to race Mountain Bikes there, so I know David (the land owner)

I've taken the 90 & 110 around, but not the Discovery, as open-days are limited now, or I find out about them afterwards] (or I'm working)

Did jeep fest 03 in the XJ.  They'd only let me do the blue routes cos it was stock.  SPOILSPORTS.  It was a good offroader I would like to take the 90 to tong though.

One of the problems with Jeep fest... bit overpoliced

Had M/T's on in 2003 so did most of the Reds

Good site tho

I went to Jeep fest this year and was very dissapointed with it to the point of probably wont go again.

I think the £50 is far too expensive, you could go to the Dales for example greenlaning and stay in a B&B. I used to be in the Tong offroad club last year and I seem to remember that was £35.00 for the day. I will not be paying the £50 even though Tong is an excellent offroad site.
