Title: One Up, One Down
Post by: 96Disco on August 26, 2005, 15:41:13
Damn!

I've just noticed that I've ended up with one rear spring the right way up (tight coils at the top) and one the wrong way.  Changing over will be a pain now I've fitted the dislocation cones, does anyone know whether it matters?

Thanks,

Phil

Depends on your springs?

What have you got?

A set of the yellow Britpart springs which Paddocks sell as a kit with the ProComp shock absorbers.

No you'll be fine.

Some of the progrersive springs need to match but yours are not (as far as Im aware) so Im pretty sure you'll be fine.

Most springs dont even have a right way up!

Thanks, Landyman, that's a relief!  I thought I was going to have to take the thing apart again....

And lets face it, its bad enough doing it once without having to do it all over again!!!!!!

Well, indeed, although I must say the new springs and shock absorbers have made a tremendous difference to the car's off-road performance so the effort of doing it once was worth it!

Could not agree more. I put a set of Old Man Emus on my hybrid and it was like a new vehicle.

Without a doubt one one of the best upgrades you can do!

But you'll certainly know about it if they do and you've got it wrong!
