Title: Next day dellivery?
Post by: TULL on July 19, 2005, 23:55:19
Dont often gripe about other buisnesses, but on Friday ordered 5 nice 235,85,16 Greenway Machos from Sowden, just for the birthday bash.
They will be with you Monday, ok not next day but was afternoon, Monday, passed no tyres in sight, gave them a call, they said they would look into it, ok mistakes happen, tuesday, they call me at work, they had been dellivered to wrong address ( their buisness card made it to the address ) oh so they will be here today, " not sure", but I wouldnt hold your breath was reply. Still not here, maybe tommorow. Now maybe im wrong but it looks like i paid for next day, and they made xtra money by sending by normal dellivery, ther car is booked in to have them fitted and a few bit at the garrage, tommorow, so im a bit p****d now .they said i could have delivery next time cheaper, but after this why should  i go back to them again        :(sulk):  :(bigangry):

Next Day delivery never includes weekends - that's at a premium.

Personally, I would tell them that they failed to deliver next day (for which you paid?), so you want the full delivery cost refunded.

Possibly pointing out the fact that you frequently contribute to the Mud Club forum will probably add some weight to the argument

You should live up here and try to get things delivered!!  :?

I ordered a winch bumper from David Bowyer and after a week of waiting for it I phoned David, who called TNT to find out that it was in a depot in Perth awaiting enough parcels to make a trip up here worth their while!    It didn't matter that I had paid for 48 hour delivery!!
I will not use TNT for anything now, I would rather have it sent by Royal Mail!

When I got my transfer box from Ashcrofts the standard mainland delivery is £25 each way. They said the best price they could get to deliver it the extra 1 hours drive and 3 hours ferry trip to the island from Inverness was..............£75 each way!!!  :-s
So I payed them £25 to deliver it to a local parcel Co's depot in Inverness and paid the local Co £11 to get it over here.

Having said that, V8_redline posted a diff flange kit up to me last Saturday and it was here on Monday afternoon, 1st class Royal Mail!!  =D>

Recently (June) ordered a heavy item from David Bowyer with next day delivery.
Devon to Derby.
Guess what? It arrived next day. Well done, David & carrier. :)

In 1999 ordered a V8 ex MOD engine from RPI in Norfolk.
Delivered by TNT
Norfolk to Derby cost 50 quid
Delivery promise noon Thursday on a specified date.
The tail-lift of the truck hit the deck exactly at noon Thursday on that date. :)

Well pleased with the carriers and the suppliers I trust.
 :)

To be fair to Mark at Sowden Tyres he has been very appologetic and tried to sort things out , i was probably just in a realy bad mood when i wrote this thread, but when it boils down to it the service was not what i paid for, END OF GRIPE

Sale of goods and services act 1974, the next day service was definitely not as described or agreed, you are legally entitled to not only a refund but any other out-of -pocket expenses.

:D Glad to hear you finnally got your tyres.. And what ive seen of Machos in action, your going to have a lot of fun in mud when others are getting stuck. Excellant grip and apparently dont seem to ware as bad as say Grizzly Claws etc..

My Grizzlys are wearing out at an alarming rate, must get a set of big road tyres one day
Post a pic when there on...
