Title: Leaking Jimny
Post by: Gromitt on March 30, 2010, 19:45:58
Help, I"ve got a leak on my Jimny.

When it rains I get a constant dripping of water from behind the dash down to just right of the accelerator pedal. Can't seem to find where it's coming from but wondered if it could be getting in past the right hand wiper seal  :? :? :?

Anybody come across this before or has anyone any other ideas where it may be getting in ?

Eh up John, thought you had emigrated

Looks like this is a common problem as I found this on a car review website.

Windscreen seals are not the best. If you notice water leaks or excessive dampness around the dash or front footwell it may be necessary to have the front windscreen removed and resealed to fix it.

Check the drain hole below the winscreen wiper pivot on the drivers side. This can get blocked and allows water to find an alternative route towards the ground via the foot well. Mine dose it - this helps.

Cheers, I"ll check that.

New windscreen has cured the leak.
