i have just had clutch and slave cylinder changed-not by myself i hasten to add-since this was done getting into 2nd 4th and reverse is quite stiff any ideas this was done by a private mechanic 2002 td4
now the amber hdc light is permanently on!!!!-what causes this anyone

That can be a couple of things - on mine it was the brake switch under the pedel, but I believe that a loose / broken connection to the switch can cause it too.
Does it go off when you brake, then come on again later? Are there any other lights lit at the same time?

Without wishing to say something "too" obvious im assuming you have switched HDC off?

i'll check switch over the weekend thanks-
light will be on one day but not the next so hopefully switch
hdc has never been switched on whilst i've had vehicle .

Broken wires at the switch?

light went off all by itself 4 days ago n hasn't come back on yet so i think i'll leave it untill it does
