We haven't had a 'proper' holiday for years, so decided to take a few days in the Brecon Beacons before going to Eastnor for the LRW show.
For those who may be the slightest bit interested, here are a few pics:

I can strongly recommend 'Big Pit' (http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/bigpit/) at Blaenafon. It is enthusiastically staffed by people who worked in the pit when it was active. It is free entry, but the stuffed donations box demonstrated how good it was. I have to admit, it was actually quite emotional in places. The passion and pride shines through with everyone we spoke to.
I would also recommend the cottage we stayed at. Really friendly owners and a beautiful place... and very reasonably priced too!

Not too bad actually. Got there on less than a tank full. Same on the return trip obviously! I reckon we topped 20mpg on the motorway doing 65-70mph most of the way. And that was loaded up with the camping gear in the back and the tent on the roof rack. We detoured into Warwick on the way and Stratford-Upon-Avon on the way back.

Someones handy with a camera and has an eye for a shot, i'm guessing somewhere in the region of 1/2 second exposure on the waterfalls :?:

Can't remember without looking up the original, but they were hand held so they weren't too long exposure! Leaning on trees/rocks/wife can help in those circumstances

Hey Steve,
they are some really nice photo's , i see you have mastered the Nikon.
I regret to say i've only used mine a handful of times since i bought, must bring it at the weekend.

What camera's are you running then :?:
I've got a Canon Eos 5 With VG10 grip + 28-105 Canon USM Mk2 lens and also a Sony DSC H2 digital SLR.
Are you both into your photography then :?: I used to work for Jessops for 5 years so picked up the bug there.

Mine's a Nikon D50 with 18-55 and 55-200 lenses.
My first job (ahem, a long time ago!) was in a camera and hi-fi shop. Bought my Nikon FM 35mm SLR then. Still have it nearly 30 years later and it works as well as it did then. Not sure the DSLR will last that long without breaking
I've always enjoyed photography, but let it slip for a few years when I had a point and shoot digital camera. But I missed being able to take photographs rather than snaps, if you know what I mean.
This was the very first picture I took with the D50 and was totally blown away by the colour saturation. OK, my depth of field was off, but it certainly got me back into photography!

True, the colours are amazing, I love the way digital can get so close to the subject, can make for some cracking abstracts
I hardly use my Canon anymore but looking to use it more as I'm a big lover of B/W and wanna get back into that side of things, maybe a S/H DSLR Canon body could be in order
My first camera was the Olympus OM10, with manual adaptor I'll quickly add
Took some cracking shots with. I bought the Sony as it was going dirt cheap, not a true DSLR as the len cannot be interchanged but it has every manual feature you could ever imagine on a SLR and also has a 38-420mm zoom
I think a new section could be in order, members photo's

My 1st camera was a OM10 with manual adaptor and power winder too.
A proper camera, I really miss it, but the D50 is pure class ( i have one too)
I'm just try to convince my better half i need another lens, lookin at a sigma at the mo 18-200, it seems to of had some good reviews.
I f anyone has other suggestions i'm all ears.

Power winder eh, that means your posh
I've not seen any reviews on the Sigma 18-200 but looking at the lens spec and what i've seen it looks impressive, just found this:

I must be posh too.... I have a power winder for my FM. Had to pay a fortune for it second hand. I seem to remember it being more than the body originally.

I took this picture on the first day I had my current camera. I wanted to see how it coped with colour in shadow and bright light.

We did! The place we stayed was lovely and we are likely to book a long weekend there again later in the year. Might go in the Freelander this time for a bit more comfort than the 110!
