hi,
just fitted a lift kit to my truck & now the front prop is touching the gearbox xmember, have been told that there is some sort of mod to cure this that will point the diff's at a different angle - more towards the gearbox,
does this make any sense to anybody?, if so any clues?,
thanks in advance,
bb.
ps:- trying to post image but cant rember how to get it on or resize.
yipee done it at last, thanks muddywebb.

Ok, how much lift and which gearbox/crossmember etc. Th eproblme I hve with mine is the anti roll bar, not the gearbox crossmsmber so it's easily sorted. The crossmeber's all come out though so you may have to resort to cutting a section out and reinforcing it elsewhere. Remember to allow for droop travel though and watch out for your nipple getting torn off if it rubs :P

As another option, you can fit the crossmember from a 90... these are the tubular type and will give you a little more clearance.
Thing is... if it is touching on tarmac, then it will only get worse as the axles start to work off-road... I would also think you are going to have some real problems with the propshaft angles

i've got a OME +2" lift on my 1990 Classic with a tubular cross member and mine rubs on full articulation, so that might not be the answer.
seen a cross member made by Tomcat which may do the job as it mount in a different place to a standard one.
worth a look at one of the shows (Billing) or give them a ring on

the only other option is to make one of your own
