As above the cable i releasing but not the brake, what's the best way to free it off.
-
Had exactly the same happen to me, i put a paint stripper/heat gun underneath and warmed the brake drum area from a distance, I put a wheel chock in front of the wheel and kept the handbrake "off" went inside with a coffee and watched through the window, only took about 3-4 mins to, been fine since, good luck
-
I even had an X-Brake freeze the other day  It let go with a bang as soon as I drove off though.

they must really *love* landrovers to own one in a cold country. Without mods you got freezing transmission brake drum, freezing gear selectors, leaks, crap heater, rubbish road lighting, constant condensation, once you figure out how to unfreeze the door locks you then gotta to figure how to unfreeze the rubber door seal!

I'v just used some silicon lock spray and it seems to improve the unlocking on a sub zero morning. Doesn't solve the frozen door seal though!

I've recently applied a smear of vaseline to the seal of 2nd row door so at least I can gain entry to cabin, seems to work but not sure how healthy it is for the rubber. You might be braver than me to find out ..... try putting vasline rubber as keywords into google  Probably your silicone spray would be the way to go for seals too.
EDIT: vaseline = pants , door seal froze shut again this evening. Cleaned it off and applied some silicone spray and will see what it's like in morn. Doesn't help that snow on roof rack been melting and dripping over driver door handle all day --- was a block of ice

I've heard that silicon spray works well on door seals
-
gah door locks where frozen again, but the door seal was good with the silicone!
-
Handbrake releases ok on my 90, but the cable freezes so that the light stays on as it wont retract all the way
-
Blow torch (from a distance!!) and a rubber mallet! happen'd the last 3 mornings in a row now! not impressed!!! As for the door seals a quick spray of trim shine, seems to have worked for me anyway!!
-
Wish I could get my doors to fit well enough to freeze to the seals

Would like to add FROZEN ACCELERATOR CABLE to the list. What fun that was this morning when pedal didn't return - it waited until I pulled onto road too

I know I dont have a landy but I never put the hand brake on in cold weather. I leave it off and pop it into 1st gear.
Thinking about it, I used to do that anyway with my series landies as the hand brake was so rubbish!
