Title: leaking water pump

i have 200tdi and have a problem my water pump is leaking from the bottom of the pump housing
ive tried silicon sealent as a gasket still leaked
got hold of a proper gasket and that still leaked
even tried silicon sealent both sides of the gasket and still leaks
i did notice the sealent wont stick to timeing cover but sticks fine to the pump
any one got any idiea's how to sort it out

i used obviouslty the new p gasket and some instant gasket and never had any problems

sounds like faulty pump or pressure plug at bottom of pump

your the second to say something along these lines and when i run the engine and it gets up to temp it stops leaking
do u think this could be the problem

There's a small hole on the underside of the water pump that lets the water out when the internal seal in the pump is knackered  ;)
