Hi,
I have a 52 plate ranger double cab ( which im selling  :)). It tends to return around 27-32 i would say. It really depends on how you drive and what you carry i guess. If you need any more inside info let me know!

R.F.W is to do with the front wheel hubs. if i remember when you select low box it will lock the front hubs and the r.f.w light will show when you put back into high box you have to press the button manually to disengage hope this helps mine was the non turbo model very under powered. it  proved to be a very good off road tool all being i lifted mine and put 31 inch mt on.i might also have the hand book from mine somewhere i will look over weekend and if i find it i will pm you

Basicly what he said above!!!!!!!!!!! RFW stands for 'remote free wheeling' hubs. When you want to go from 4wd back to 2wd you need to press the button to knock the hubs out, other wise you will be in 2wd/rwd but with youre whole front drive train being turned uneccessarily by youre front wheels as opposed to just youre wheels . It does just the same as getting out and turning the thingy on your manual free wheeling hubs, if you had an early hi-lux or suzuki sj etc.  :) :)

is it like diff lock on a landy,or like a old type wheel lock on fronteras etc.didn't know you could go off road with them,do you mean green lane or proper off road
like a landy.im getting some 32inch mt broncos for disco so might swap the disco diamond claws mt 28inch on ranger and see what happens.what you think,by the way keep to 55mph and i get 35 mpg out of mine £30 =186miles @126 a liter

Blimey 35mpg sounds good!!!!!!!!!! Im fairly sure i dont get that out of mine. Is yours a single or double cab???? Mine is a double cab so its a bit heavier i guess, and im running 31" tyres!

arron,it's a double cab turbo 02 reg.to get that milage you need to keep on 55mph and take it easy on the right foot.i think i'v got my sums right.have you got R.F.W on your's.mine is very light on the back end easy to skid in the wet

Yeah mate mine has the RFW, i was under the impression all the 4x4 models had it. Also mine certainly does spin up well on the back end, even with the 31" all terrain tyres, and having an lsd means it goes sideways nicely. Im still shocked at your mpg, i put £50 in mine and got 250 miles   :'( . Could having 90k on the clock and big tyres cause that???????

Aaron, mine got 104,000 on clock.bigger wheels mean lower reves and alter your speed on the clock . try and keep reves on 2000 max when changing gears.its very boring driving.we got less traffic here from house to work is 20 miles i dont stop at all not like city driving.I'm back to normal driving now so I'm getting 28 to 30 max
