Title: ABS fault?
Post by: Discohugh on June 16, 2007, 13:30:13
Hi, my mate was out in his D2 when he broke hard and noticed his ABS didnt kick in so he took it to our indy landy garage who then plugged it in and a fault read "abs fault, wire loose/broken" (i think), they then said it would be the pump at fault and would cost £1500 to sort!!!!!!. Now is this correct or is he being hoodwinked, he has checked the plugs etc and couldnt find anything, he was also at the DOC national on the offroad course could he have damaged some sensor or something. Also he has had no warning lamps on dash light up to indicate a fault anyway?. Advise would be gratefully received

For something like that I'd get a second opinion.  Don't take it to a main dealer, try another Land Rover-specific independent with a good reputation.
