Title: changing swivel bearings without striping the hub?
Post by: windowlicker on March 31, 2007, 10:48:21
i was wandering if its possible to change the swivel pin bearings and seals without striping the hub the main reason is that when i changed the wheel bearings the threads on the stub axle were not briliant and i dont want to risk completely knackering them by taking the hubnuts off and on again.

its a kit that i got from paddocks but where does the little oil seal fit does anyone have an exploded diagram?

I'd bite the bullet and get a stub axle as well and 'do it properly' :)

The new surface on the stub axle will help with the oil seal sealing at the back of the wheel bearings and will be well worth the extra cost given the extended life that your wheel bearings will enjoy.

Just 2p worth :)
