:?: Reet, collecting my first landrover tomorrow night, obviously want to give it a full service asap, Can anyone recommend/not recommend an appropriate engine oil.

Working in the haulage industry, I am able to get fully synthetic oil for my Disco.

I just changed the oil twice to start with as a method of flushing it out, then changed the filter and replace with nice fresh oil. And she seems to run perfectly on it ( as did my last one!!)

i think andy was referring to brands and which oils to use..

am i right?

i told him that i use millers xd but its rocking horse to find if your normal supplier is sold out

Try the difflock site they recomend and sell a semi 10/40 at £8-50 +vat. a very good price.

I've had odd experience with Synthetic oils..

tried some and the motor loved them, tried others and it was almost as if I'd kicked him in the nads and then questioned his parentage.

then again, I drive a 2/1/4 .. hell it'd be happy enough on marmite.
