Anyone care to join the MUD posse, put your name and registration on here. here's mine M100 MUD.
-
Mine is P19 MUD ;-)
-
......and me R300MUD
makes a change from all that shiny blue crew stuff  !
they have some friendly competition now!
-
And that 50th Anniversary lot
-
Just got L60 MUD (GO MUD) as an early birthday present next month
So count me in the MUD Club Club
-
I've already got private plates.
Can I still be a member as my name is MUD after leaving half of Tixover on the drive.
Ed
-
I've got some mud *on* my number plate.... does that count ?
-
I just changed my private plates for my MUD ones ;-) No Excuses!!
-
You gotta have MUD plates to be here, sorry - you try to join the shiny blue crew wiv a green motor, not allowed.....
-
What we need now is a "MUD posse" sticker..... over to you Tim or Daz for one of your usual designs.
-
And that 50th Anniversary lot
'ere Frank was that a dig at me?
I investigated getting a MUD reg at one point but decided I had better things to spend my money on ;-)
-
No Gordon, not a dig at you, didn't know you had one, just a bit of friendly banter.
MUD reg just a bit of fun.
-
Gordon
You missed another thread re the 50th(disco) crew obviously - they wouldnt let Frank in even though he now has the wheels!!
please, please tell me what there is better to spend my money on!
(dont say a 50th)!
I have led a very sheltered life!
................and when I got home today my certificate was on the doorstep!!
off to Wootton at pace - well, in the morning anyway
Dave
-
I have Mud on my number plate...
I lost it at Tixover and never found did find it....
-
I Couldn't missout on this one...
Mine is W4x4MUD
-
Nice one Lawrence
how do u get away with the 'X' between the fours ???
Dave
-
I use 2 strips of insulation tape on the outside of the plate. Then when mr plod (with nothing better to do at that time) mentions it, I just scrape it off with my nail saying "Oh you meen that dirt that just came off!"
-
lol...........very good!
-
Just had a look on DVLA for LR 03 MUD - it's gone
Could get BL 03 MUD, but it doesn't look like BLOB MUD.
03 is tricky
-
You'll have to wait another four years for BL08 MUD!
-
Could get BL 03 MUD, but it doesn't look like BLOB MUD.
03 is tricky
You could always add some black plastic number
plate bolts in the right place...
Or black tape as mentioned above..!!
-
Hehe, I'm working on it so watch this space
-
Hehe, I'm working on it so watch this space
Andy,
Yours never gets dirty enough to have MUD on the plate...
-
And of course, mine's M666MUD...
Not got it on yet - haven't had a chance to get across to DVLA yet - hopefully next week in time for Whitworth!!!
Cheers
Ben
-
I did look at buying G13 MUD (GB MUD) but I have to spend my money on other things at the moment
-
Chances of me being able to afford an 05 landrover are well................
But I like the look of
ED05 MUD with the zero looking more like a D.
OK..................
I'll dream on
Ed
-
.....been down the local licensing office this afternoon to transfer the number - which have done (nearly got snowed in!!! , Northampton gridlocked by fools who cant drive in the snow!!)
- Plates being made and fitted tommorrow pm.
Hmmmm , Do you think it will drive any better?
-
Us "50th Aniversary Lot" dont need private plates as our vehicles are limited Editions and therefore have the correct plates for the vehicle.
we dont need to be sheep in wolves clothes Frankie!!!
Loads of people can be in the ES owners club etc, but we are more "Elite"
Sogster.
(where being elite is a privelage)
-
Loads of people can be in the ES owners club
ES Owners Club.....? ME ME ME.... :D
-
Isn't it just a civil offence to stick any number plate on a motor.
Most of the bikers in Matlock on bank holidays just make them up.
No one can catch them anyway.............
Thinks.............
Landrover. Chase.................
No forget it.
Ed
-
Frank I know you weren't too serious, nor was I :-)
Gordon
please, please tell me what there is better to spend my money on!
(dont say a 50th)!
I have led a very sheltered life!
David, if I have to tell you what better things there are to spend your money on I don't think I'll even try - would hate to blow open that sheltered life of yours ;-)
I did look at R50 MUD when first bought the 90 but there were things I wanted to by for the 90 then and I decided that the £250 they wanted was better spent on parts with a real use (if you see what I mean). Since then someone has bought it so couldn't get it now if I wanted. Could still have J,K,L or P50 MUD but I am still not convinced.
On the other hand if I did I could join the shiny blue crew, the 50ths and this group too, bet that would put the cat among the pigeons :-D
-
Andy, you could try S111 NEY (SHINEY) with a clevely placed black headed fixing.
-
S111TTY (with the same black dot) might be cool :?:
-
:D :D Nice one Moose, like it.
How much though :(
-
It would be no good for you Andy...
It could only be put on a "S Reg" or Newer.... :(
-
Hmmm..... thought as much as I was reading the DVLA site last night.
So anything I got would have to start with a K then :?: or lower.
Have seen one but with mounting debts else where may have to give in to sensible thinking, although the [golly it is shiny isn't] It factor could kick in
(moderate if you see fit)

That's right..
BTW I have [WIL 2678] fosale if anyone wants a cheap plate,
This can be stuck on any age vehicle...

I should probably have moderated that to read "although the I really want a nice new shiny numberplate to go with my overly polished disco 'wot I use for hairdressing in factor...."
-

Well I do leave myself open to these comments, especially being a member of 'MUD' Club
-
Garry,
I know what you mean about the "ES" club and the MUD posse, but you have to realise that when LR decided to build the Disco II, they thought "Aha, how can we get rid of these remaining DI's", some wag said "let's paint them Atlantis Blue and flog them off as Special Editions like all end of line things", makes sense doesn't it .....
-
Andy, there's loads of 'MUD's on www.newreg.com, but again as I stated (& other members) the price is dearer than the DVLA.
Sorry there's no 'K44 MUD', but most othre combinations.
Frankie; And I thought we were friends :?:
When I bought my plate, there was 'S50 MUD' for sale, it was on the list anyway, but I went with the initals.
Have seen 'S50 BTM' for sale on 'newreg' :)
http://www.newreg.co.uk/home/search/preview_registration.plate?preview_reg%5B%5D=S50_BTM&preview_reg%5B%5D=S50_BTM&page=1®istration=S50BTM&type_of_reg=Prefix®istration_display=&arrived_from=New+Search&alphabetical=A

Does indeed make sense Frank but it's not quite correct. They weren't painted atlantic blue and sold off as 50th's (50th's were earlier than that). They actually painted them green or silver, chucked on a pile of extras for virtually nothing 'cos they had them stuck in the warehouse and they weren't selling (sidesteps, soft A bars, roof ladders etc) and called them the 'Safari' special editon. I know cos I have one of them too ;-)
-
I thought they were done especially for the anniversary???? Coz they did the whole range of Rovers!!
Sogster.
(where 50th owners are special!!)
-
Found this picture on 'offrover.com' (new site address) of a lucky, lucky mans motors :D
'P12 MUD' & 'P13 MUD'
http://www.offrovers.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11756
-
Wow,nice looking RR, are they members :?:
S50 BTM very good, I'd be tempted by that one.
-
Follow the Yellow Brick Road (sorry, the link) Andy & ask him if he wants to join your 'Posse'
-
Hey I am not worthy enough to join the 'posse' , still got a standard reg plate on mine :(
Only those with money burning a hole in there wallets are plated up
Would be nice to just have the money in my wallet
-
Of course you've got the money Andy, after all your Discovery's got central heating - so a number plate should be no problem.
Just send Jayne out to work more & check the local chimney sweeps to see if they want any young apprentices :D
-

If only it were that simple
-
:D Hi just joined as a result of your recruiting drive on LRUK Forums!
I own P12 MUD and P13 MUD - 12 is on a 1996 Defender 90 County Hard top converted to a stationwagon and 13 is on a Range Rover TD6SE. Both get very dirty and play hard off road (yes even the Rangie which got mud in it's wheelarches when it was 3 weeks old)
-
YES!
Welcome to the posse ;-)
I'll see if we can't get a special mud-club "MUD posse" sticker made up and available for sale from the MUD-CLUB shop (shopping link from the portal.... http://portal.mud-club.com )
-
Excellent Tim :D
Welcome aboard, nice motors :D :D :D
-
Hi Tim, I'm not a member of this 'grubby bunch', but I think it was me who put your photo on here after seeing it on LRUK in the picture contest.
Welcome aboard!
Andy, surely they can climb in a confined space & hold a brush?
-
The deed is done.....................
strangley enough it even seems to drive better
-
Great pic Dave,
You'll need a new avatar now
-
Looks good...
Picked up the plates this morning - hopefully be ablet o get to the office this week to make the changeover :D
Cheers
Ben
-
Ben
dont forget to post a piccy - remember you seemed to start all this!!!
regards
dave
ps where did u get your spare wheel carrier?
-
Hello Dave
Nice photo mate but who cut your hedge in the background it look`s great with a level top to it
-
Hi Dave
The wheel carrier's a Mantec one. Really solid, but at a price - cost me about £185 at the LRO show in Peterborough last year. Took about 60 minutes to fit it, after swapping the drop down tailgate to side mounted hinges...
If I get the swap done in time, there'll be some good photos of the plate with plenty of whitworth MUD around it!!!
Cheers
Ben
-
Duncan
If I ever find the cowboys who butchered my once lovely hedge!!!!
.........only jokin m8, the best groomed hedge in Kettering!! :D
Ben,
loadsa money, im gonna have to look seriously at something like that as my back door is behaving kinda weird under the weight of a 265 spare!
cheers
-
i was looking at some plates today and found
G3 DEF about £500
-
'Sogster'
How about the 'Glistening Green Machines' for us??? :D
-
Sorry Richard,
But according to my log book mines "BLUE"
Sogster.
P.S. had a look on the DVLA site and found a few good'uns for me!!!.....
M1 50TH. S1 50TH S4 50TH etc etc.
-
Blue?
or caprice turqouise (LR Code 533)?
-
Richards is green as he keeps telling me, although if I'm right it's also down in his log as blue :?
I'm sure if I'm wrong he'll correct me
-
Sogster; do your consider yours to be blue then?
Mine is always green to me, as shown in the picture in the 'Twins' topic on the Discovery forum.
The current MoT test certificate says Green!
-
Piglet is Avalon Blue....
Previous MOT certificates
2001 - Grey
2002 - Green
2003 - Blue
So er.....hey!
-
Must be some colour blind MoT testers around Northampton then, Neil?
-
The deed is done.....................
strangley enough it even seems to drive better
Dave,
I have to go to the DVLA Northampton office tomorrow,
I understand they are moving but not sure when..!!
Are they still at:
Wootton Hall Park,
Northampton,
NN4 0GA
-
Paul,
Dave isn't around at present but below is the address you need, not the Wootton Hall park one, Details on www.dvla.org.uk .
DVLA
Ground Floor
Riverside House
Riverside Way
Bedford Road
Northampton
NN1 5PE.
-
Thanks Frank,
When did they move..?
-
Frank,
Is that on the A428 just off the A45.....?
-
Not sure when they moved, Dave told me that he had a different address to go to, when the paperwork arrived for my change, I was refered to that website for the address, I've tried a search on Auto route, but came up with nothing, I haven't tried multimap or streetmap.
-
If you come in onto the Bedford road from the A45, head towards the town centre, through a set of lights and Riverside way is on your right.
-
Cheers Frank.
-
Legolas????
Never considered you as an Elf Andy?
Perhaps a Halfling (Hobbit) maybe :D
And, yes at long last I eventually got to see it on Saturday night.
Superlatives fail me
-
Just followed two Discos back from town both on "dirty" number plate:
Zambesi Silver TD5 GS on S111 DRT
Epson Green on S3 MCK
Should they be considered suitable for joining the MUD posse?
-
Erm cheers Richard (BTM) I think :?
Take it you liked what you saw :?:
Excellent films, so I thought I'd have a change of name for the time being and the one I chose is my fav character :D
-
Yes I enjoyed it very much as I went by myself, so wasn't having to constantly explain the story (& why whom did what) to SWMBO.
Have to consider 'splashing out' & buying them on box-set DVD.
-
Legolas????
I'm curious as to whether he thinks he's a Female lego model, or whether he's run out of Building blocks....
Perhaps his next Nickname will be DuploBoy :)
-

Sorry just picked myself off the floor from laughing so much.
Well it was a good idea at the time, off to sulk now .
-
Going to sulk?
So it's 'Little Jack' now, is it Andy? :D
-
he secretly wants to be liv tyler's character
or maybe
liv tyler
-
Ohh and they keep coming, knock a bloke when he's already down why don't you
Actually I am sat in a corner :D
-
i get it quite often too andy so dont worry you aint alone!
i mean the jibes!!!!
will stop now
maybe
-
Nah no worries matey, feel free you need the posts
-
as do you my friend!
taken you long enough to catch up
if only i could use this in work again i would be king again
-

Erm........ sorry Frank for hijacking your thread, still working on the MUD plate won't be in time for Whitworth but maybe just maybe my wish will be granted :D
(The one I'm after is still for sale  )
-
No worries Andy, I'll just let you lot ramble on and when you least expect it, I'll delete everything that's not "Mud-Posse" related.
-
Sorry Frank, but I just had to ask about 'Legolas'
I'll leave it for now :)
-
Serious question here about plates (reg).
If I do get one and put it on my motor, what do I do if I ever come to sell it (god forbid) .
OK it could stay on, but what if I wanted to keep the private plate?
Is it the same process again for getting a non private plate put back on?
Just thought it might be worth knowing this before I go ahead, if I'm allowed
-
I think you just need to pay the £80 transfer fee, not sure if you're existing registration goes into limbo and you get it back or if you're just assigned an age related plate.
-
Andy,
Chris is right, £80 to transfer it to another vehicle,
Or £105 to put it on retention (for transfer at a later date)
Should you not have a vehicle to transfer it to.
Your old number plate will be held at Swansea and put back
on the vehicle when the plate is transfered..
-
When I changed my last Disco, they put a different number on it, still a N reg, but a diffent number/area. In fact, I presume the new owner knows but it has five different registrations by thre time I sold it.
It was registered with a normal N reg, in 96, it then had a private plate put on , when I purchase it , it was 12 month old and the exowner had keep the private plate, therefore it had gained another age related reg. I then put my private plate on, which I kept when I sold it. Colliers then put a 3rd N reg plate on.
-
Cheers guys bit clearer on things now :D
Mine too has in it's history had three different plates on. K reg plate from new 03/93, then private from 09/94 to 04/97 then to what it is now , but this is different from the original K reg plate :?:
-
FWIW/IMHO;
Generally these days they re-assign the plate the vehicle originally had (has been the case for ALL of the Disco's that I have owned, but not for the RR...).
This of course depends on the age of the vehicle in question and more importantly if the previous number has been re-assigned elsewhere or removed from the register.
-
Met Ben and Rachel today for the Whitworth play day and saw his new plate :D
Looking good Ben, hope you had a safe journey back home
-
Thanks Andy
We got back safely - Rach slept most of the way home. Imagine that in a 90!!!
New avatar on the way!
Cheers
Ben
-
Nice one Ben, cheers for coming great seeing you both :D
-
Don't know if anyones seen it, but you've got another (possible) member in the February issue of 'LRE' on page 124.
A green 90 bearing the plate 'R50 MUD'
-
Found a picture of another prospective member taken at Piece Hall last year (same weekend as LRO - Bramham Park)
A very nice 90 Anniversary.
-
The 'high-rise' 90 in the background is the amphibious 90 restored by Kevin Baldwin for 'LRW'
-
Richard you seem to of turned into a 'Mud' spotter
Nice photo, missed last year show due to LRO being on at Wetherby :(
-
Yes, so it seems, and I saw another on for you this morning on Leeds Road in Outwood(Wakefield) Andy-roo :)
A silver 5-door Frontera bearing 'J26 MUD'
-
Well at long last finally got there :D
Had to wait though 2 and a half hours at the DVLA offices in Leeds
But the result was worth waiting for :D
What you think Frank can I join the 'posse'
http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Andy./gallery/Extras/0/750670-1077920343.
On the motor tomorrow :D
-
Well done Andy, so you won't be buying that 'M' reg Discovery now? :D
-
Andy
so is the end of the shiny blue crew now then?
-
Welcome aboard Andy!
 8)
Ben
-
Cheers Ben :D
No Dave it's still Shiny and blue just got MUD on the number plate :D :D :D
Pic's to follow of new reg plate on
-
Keep your old number plates and when you go to the DVLA to apply to transfer your private plate to another vehicle or put it on retention take them with you and ask them to put that number back on.
If you do that you will get the old number back, if you just apply and don't specify a number then they will assign a new age related plate.
-
Yep kept them because you never know.
Right plates on so here are the pic's :D
http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Andy./gallery/Extras
-
Mmm. 'Shiney Mud', a contradiction in terms?? :D
-
Andy
looks well cool m8
a good choice of number!!
Dave
-
Cheers Dave, they do have a certain look to them don't they :D
Had quite a few stares from other drivers since they went on, one of the best purchases I've bought for the motor, well chuffed :D :D :D
-
Hi Andy
I'm getting the "stare effect" quite a bit with mine, but then it's still coated with Whitworth's finest! The only clean bit is the plates
Had a guy on the M1 the other day that kept speeding up and slowing down to get another look! I do enjoy commuting in the Landy every now and again!!!
Cheers
Ben
-
You guys are right , people do tend to take a second look
a good buy I think, well done Ben for starting it of!!
dave
-
Just phoned insurance up to change the details of the reg and they've charged me £30.22 for administration cost
I ask you, I may as well write them a blank cheque every year
Not best pleased at all.
Still plate looks good, cheers all fellow posse members for the inspiration. We will all have to meet up some day and get a group photo :D
-
Name and shame them Andy.
I've never paid to have the reg number changed over.
Ed
-
Sureterm
Cost for changing paper work and printing/posting me new copy of insurance certificate.
I won't be with them next year that's for sure
-
I moved to them last July.
I won't be with them in August this year.
Thanks for letting us know Andy.
Ed
-
I'm butting in, but, I'm with Adrian Flux & on reading the small print concerning change of details, they want £15.00 for a 'standard alteration' (ie; address) :x
-
Just phoned insurance up to change the details of the reg and they've charged me £30.22 for administration cost
The best way to get round this is to insure your vehicle on it
'Vehicle Identifacation Number' VIN..
I insured my Discovery on it's VIN Number as I had to change my
private plate over from the old Disco to the new Disco...
No need to inform the insurance company of the change of number
plate...
Most companies won't want to insure your vehicle on it's VIN number
but if you tell them it will be undergoing a 'Cherished Transfer' they
will do it for you....
-
I've had my plates fitted for some time but hadn't posted any photo's - but here's a couple I did earlier.
-
Very Nice Frank. Now you need to get some MUD on the motor. :D
-
No chance of that Phil
remember the original Frank who dived into the aston cantlow Bog? Yes, well he has gone soft now!
he he
dave
-
Yeah I heard this story, better not let him catch you saying that.
He'll get it muddy soon....... won't ya Frank :D :D
-
I thought you said you'd put 'Boost' (50th) alloys on it Frank?
-
Very nice Frank :D
A brilliant shine on your motor, well done that man
-
trust you to spot it Andy - lol!!
:D
-
 I think we need a mud posse only vehicle gallery - all those sporting the MUD plates, maybe some form of register?! How do we go about this, and wheres the best place to put it on the forum? :?:
-
Richard,
When I asked about alloys that were fitted to 50ths, these were the ones I was offered, I assumed them to be correct but Sogster said they were different to his, Land Rover supplied them but they called them "XS", apparently they're easier to clean than the "Boost" ones, (according to Sogster)
Regards
-
Andy,
I'm sorry to say that the motor hasn't seen polish for about a year now, the shine you see is residual, it was done with a quality product though.
I'm not planning to get it muddy at all, sorry folks.
I will go along to meets etc with others and let them do the cleaning afterwards, (it's not one of my favourite jobs - nor is polishing either heh, heh), I will possibly get another toy later if the right vehicle comes along AND if the council leave us anywhere to drive, I don't want to keep a second motor for the occasional Tixover or Aston Cantlow meeting.
-
Frank, as you say the alloys you've got are the model that was fitted to the XS Discovery - most often identified by the black variated dotted transfers along the sills/door-bottoms.
'Sogs' says they're easier to clean than 'Boost'
Wouldn't know about cleaning them myself :D
-
I had one of those in Red - see attached, no one used to cut me up, I think they thought I was a fire tender or similar
Oh - it also proves I venture of the black stuff now and again :D
-
 I think we need a mud posse only vehicle gallery - all those sporting the MUD plates, maybe some form of register?! How do we go about this, and wheres the best place to put it on the forum? :?:
Excellent idea Dave, I all for that idea :D
Frank, well it looks cleaner than Bushies 50th that's for sure
Nice pic Moose even though it is Red and not Blue
-
it shall be looked into :)
Of course... if the two webmonkeys actually had MUD plates.....
-
Datalas,
DVLA still have some for sale - so it's not too late
-
Hi All
Just a quick note, I have noticed C20 MUD on a series 3? in my village and wondered if anybody recognisies it.
If not shall I mention this to the owner.
Cheers
Bev
-
Just looked and
K 500 MUD is available for £280 and might look like
KS 00 MUD on the right vehicle.
I'm happy enough with EDZ....
Ed
-
Yes Bev,
I saw that one the other week when I came down, meant to ask if you knew them
Kev
-
Datalas,
DVLA still have some for sale - so it's not too late
It's around 30 years too late for my motor.
The only valid ones for '68/72 are like £2000 :(
Would have to get a new car first :(
-
I followed this 90 round the Drumclog offroad site on Sunday, would he count for membership of the MUD posse?
-
Got overtaken by a $hogun today with an interesting twist on the theme...
D1KTY - the K was modified to look like an R - D1RTY!!! It was spotless :(
Interestingly (or not - more like sad!!!) there was a program on Men and Motors called "Number Plate Heaven" the other night. Have a look here (http://www.menandmotors.co.uk/whatson/programmeinfo.xml?programme=NUMBER%20PLATE%20HEAVEN) for more details.
The defender's a bit of a paradox at the moment (a la Andy!) It's really clean 'cos I got fed up ending up covered in mud every time I got in or out. It's embarrasing actually - the Passat's muddier :?
Cheers
Ben
-
Surely you don't mean me Ben :?:
Any way Franks is not so dirty as well, and besides if its plastered in mud you would'nt be able to see the plate
-
Andy,
Don't read too much into the next statement but yesterday I bought a set of Disco wheels complete with BFG MUD's, so you never know, I might just start getting it dirty again.
-
I might just start getting it dirty again.
Go on Frank, You know you want to..
-
Paul,
What I do know is - I want to get something dirty :? , might be the Disco, might not.
-
Frank,
That's Great News.. :D
I have been missing the laning trips around Northampton.. :P
-
y r we suposed to wash em  ladrover =dirt or even mud
-
Recieved my new log book through the post today, or should that be Registration Certificate.
It's crap, new look no longer called a V5 but now a V5C.
Quote: ' Theses certificates have been designed to comply with the European Directive to harmonise Vehicle Registration Certificates across the European Community.'
It's like an A4 booklet, much preferred the old style, so why change and are we part of Europe all of a sudden

Hello,
I have 1, my Jeep Wrangler is N8 MUD, so with the yellow fixing just right, it says NO MUD.
And my Land Rover which is a 130, i have A 130 LR, please note, both vehicles came with the plates, as i would also sooner spend the money on something else.
But they still look cool.

Sorry mate.
-
do you know does the camel Trophy only apply to Landrovers
Surprisingly, no. The first CT event used Jeeps. IIRC, and I could be wrong, LR product were used from event two onwards (before Brits even entered).
I will look into it and confirm, but I don't think Shoguns were used.
Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice

As mentioned elsewhere, I'm going to have to be a token Mud Posse member for a while... Still got the MUD plated 90, but it's not currently got a working engine... It decided to drink it's own oil on the A61 the day before I was due to take it on holiday :( New engine's on order - actually a slightly less used version of the same engine - and I'm going to try to rebuild the current engine. It didn't go "pop" as I would have expected, but simply stalled when it had run out of oil! So not sure if it'll be okay or not.
I don't think I'll be able to get a MUD plate for the temporary replacement. Looks like it's going to be a Galv Chassis'd tax exempt series 3. Hopefully going to get it either during the week or at the weekend.
Hopefully my leafer experiences will be as much fun as the coiler experience... I'll be back with the 90 though. Soon...
Cheers

-
Was it a 50th Anniversary model?
If so here it is, photographed at Piece Hall in 2001 (or 2002)
Think it's the same family that own the 'scratch- built' child sized Series 1 'TOR1A'
-
Yes could be Richard, the polihed A bar at the front was present on this one too.
Can't say I noticed the external roll cage, but then again my eyes were focused on the number plate
-
From memory Andy, they live in either Bradford or Halifax.
So if it was heading towards Hollins Hill, were they going home?

Might well of been Richard :?:

just for interest sake the UD in the older style plates shows the veihcle was origionaly registered at the dvla offices in OXFORD.other letter combinations for oxford were FC BW.SWINDON was the home for the AM plates causing the arrival of jam, sam, lam and other such words.
this is the sort of useless information a 10 year old boy living on a farm on the borders of OXFORDSHIRE and NORTHAMPTONSHIRE aquires when there is only tractors, cattle and corn to talk to.(no brothers only 3 sisters).the nearest village was 3/4 of a mile away

"Bush Tucker Man"Rogers Of Bedford, the big independant LR dealer own, or used to own, 'K9 MUD'
They had it on a 90-V8 50th Anniversary for a while.
Indeed they did use to own it. I bought it from them last October. My vehicle was originally (back in 1996) prepared by them as a demonstrator to show the Maxi Drives. These however were fitted by the designer according to Rogers. The vehicle then competed in some European events.
The vehicle was bought direct from Land Rover, and when Rogers first registered it for the road, it was done so using their plate K9MUD.
They then sold the vehicle to my brother, and it returned back to its normal plate of N61LGS, as Rogers retained K9MUD.
I then bought the vehicle from my brother in 2002, and last year I happened to note on Rogers website that they were selling the original reg. and a deal was done. :(kerching):
