I have already been out tonight to stock up on the vital stuff (beer, fags etc) and there is panic buying of bread and milk in the local Morrisons.
It must be getting cold as the local chavs have been out stealing extra tracksuits.

We have 'Hugh Grant' snow here, namely rather wet,a bit sloppy and tends to dither around a bit, before disapearing quickly. :D

But the main roads are all fine and running smooth, funny bit was that the entrance and roads into work were all gritted, but not the carparks, few dinks already :?

Took my wife to work and one out of three nurses hadn't made it in. She's gunna have a busy morning! This was the best UCR - approx 4" of snow, and I was the first to drive it :P

if your own, check your insurance carefully (especially if you're getting paid for doing it)

If anything happens, they could consider it as a 'Hire & Reward' situation & not pay out

Jermey Clarkson???? he is a resident on the isle of man, now, Lives down in a light house (basically) haha seen him a few times! and his car Ford GT which is also manx registered so no more MOT's for that car!

Quite a steep, long lane up to the country park on top. Coming back down the hill was interesting to say the least- the Surf was sliding dow sideways for a bit, and then ended up facing the wrong way in the field some 10 yards from the track!

School canceled so the kids had good fun sledging though!

We had a good covering today in the fair county of Rutland, made worse by it falling onto ice covered roads! Still good for a play though!

Anyone know what it's like in County Durham? Got to be up there by 9am tomorrow and it's work so can't take the Defender - I'll be in a Mercedes S500 sledge! :cry:

Post by: muddyjames on February 08, 2007, 17:18:32: Woke up at 4am to no snow. gutted. had a lie in for 45 mins, woke up, dusting of snow. left house at 5:10 with an inch on the ground. snowed until about 11am and now we have 3-4 inches of the lovely stuff. Just had a 2 hour snow ball fight in my close. not really fair teams. 2 blokes against about 6 kids!!! fight will resume later on probably.

West End had it, lots of it. Oddly no where else round here did, guess it might because we are highest point in southampton and sheltered. Not a tiny bit on the way from home to work and people were looking at the state of my car as if I'd driven in from the arctic.

Kids were off school so they spent most of the day in the back garden.
Got home from work and went out to a couple of local lanes, just driving the normal 'back lanes' was fun as not much other traffic had been about to get rid of the snow :lol:

however, someone also dumped a load of crap in the entrance to one of the lanes, which was quite bloody annoying :evil: it hadnt been there long (you can tell from the pic) and i THINK we might have seen the person that did it... a guy drove past a few times with an estate car full of pallets... slowed down but drove on when he saw us. Ã‚Â£20 says its him... [ed - prod with a sharp implement].

Post by: narked on February 09, 2007, 09:42:08: Just started snowing here again. Still snowed in from yesterday. My gf's dad managed to get out yesterday by getting one of the local farmers to pull him up the steep bit of track with his tractor. Then he went to pick up his Shogun that's been away for repairs. Coming back down the track he was sliding sideways! Had to pull his Disco out of the ditch yesterday due to a failed attempt to get out!

Supposed to be going greenlaning up in North Wales tomorrow, don't think I'll be able to go now :(

would love to....only prob is my only 4x4 on the road is my white rangie and at the mo its got road tyres and a brooklands bumper on it...not ideal for offroading :?

At the moment I'm working at Vyrnwy and we had 5 inches yesterday.
It started snowing today at 1.00pm and it snowed another 5 inches by 4.00pm.

So he's abandoned that, and walked to his Disco which was at the top of the lane from when he collected the Shogun. Then he rang to tell us the road is lethal too!

So now we've got drifts and a Shogun preventing us from getting out. Doh.

Well we stopped for a meal to let the tea-time traffic die down and set off back around 7. I had to stop becasue the car I had bought was a bit uncomfortable to drive and just as we were rejoining the motorway 3 fire wagons sped past, blues and twos on, followed by EVERY police car they had.

"Oh cack" I thought, so with Julie following I tried to navigate around the back roads, through Nottingham and Mansfield. It's dead hard whent he signs are covered in snow :roll:

Got back at midnight :shock: Don't know what had happened on the motorway but just as we left they had turned on the 40 signs above the carriageway, they were 30 signs on the sliproad north for anyone joining the carriageway we left :shock:

Best thing about yesterday is that she wants to go again. she even asked if we can take a picnic & sit up on the bench for it (where we stopped on that corner of Ramsden Lane)
So come Easter, I'll have her back up there & let her run about, as it's a nice location for SWMBO & myself just to sit back as well.
