I believe it is a shortend version of the expression cast off.
I believe these trailers would suit your Mog perfectly.

Yes, they are the ones you'll see behind Bedfords :D

CAST basically means it is no longer of use to the Military. It can either be an individual vehicle due to damage from an accident etc, or en masse when a replacement is available. In this instance it's because the new MAN SV vehicle is taking over from the Bedford and the SV is being issued with a larger 3t trailer :D

I would doubt that, it'd mean changing axles, "A" frame, tow jaw (or hitch), plus there's the legal side of it :huh:

Post by: cooper956 on November 09, 2010, 18:48:58: how wide are thay? iv a feeling i came across one in a farm sale and very nerly bought it but it was about 7ft wide looked more lol a landy would be fine with one upto 6ft 6" thats what my cattle trailer is if cheap may be handy for farm use

legal side? i can think of hundreds of illegal mods on green fleet vehcles..rangng from rados and bvs all the way up to sleeping or recovery systems..it was allways a case of modding the vehicles to suit wherever you were going next. someone even suggested the back of a 434 was supposed to contain a spare pack not bunk beds, heaters and more food than the local naafi could supply! any workshop could easily mod a 1/34t in anyway necessary

Yes they could, but they are ILLEGAL Mods? Untested, untrialled etc, anything "can" be done!

Any ASM worth his salt wouldn't sanction a 1&3/4 conversion !!
