How many Daihatsu owners are members of this club???
Have a look at this.

I hope there are a few so that we can help each other out and get our own section in the forums cheers justin.

I have only owned two Diahatsu engines dose this count???
They made the rangie much better
-
I said yes.

Far too fragile for regular off roading.
Theres one leaking on my driveway if anybody wants to join the Sportrak owners club and likes changing gearboxes.
Pajero is a likely replacement
-
Ive just spent 6 hours banging mine around cowm quarry so i disagree saw plenty of landys and one rangy broke down though, rangy had snapped rear half shaft, one landy the same and the rest of the landys had bent steering tie bars.
-
In the dim and distant past there was a Daihatsu section, but it was so infrequently used it got integrated into the 'Not listed' bit of the site.
If there are enough vehicles to warrant putting it back up, then we'll be happy to do it.
-
And probably for Funteras too.
-
I'm just getting a Fourtrak, so expect this section to be busy answering my dopey questions coz I know absolutely nowt about Daihatsu's.
 :?
-
Only happy to help m8 any questions just ask away my internets on the blink but when im on ill help to the best of my knoledge
-
OK, first dopey question...... I'm told that the rear roof section is removable, is that true and if it is, how does it come apart?

circular saw

Hehe, lmao. :D
-
Its very ghostly and echo'y in here, I'm scared on my own, isn't there anyone else to talk to?
-
The rear section of the roof does come off but it leaves the rear door whole and it looks silly and there are loads of bolts and screws so its hardly worth the effort, sorry for the lateness of my reply my broadband has been down.
-
I dont think its worth resurecting the Daihatsu forum, it would appear its visited very infrequently and there's only a couple of us that own them by the looks of it. :(

Hi all new member today, I just bought my first 4x4 and I am chuffed to bits with it, and guess what, it too is a daihatsu, was after a fourtrak, but settled for its little brother the sportrak, paid just over 300 quid for it and it is in mint condition, with 6 months tax and test!! seems a shame to start abusing it, but jeez thats what they're for and for 300 quid who gives a toss. Bring on the mud!
-
And didn't he do well, first venture off road and got stuck on first lane. Good job there was a big landy there to rescue him
Mind you that was with road tyres

the drivers seat is the one imediately behind the steering wheel

Blimey Brian, I wish I were clever like you, I'd never have got the answer to that on my own. hehe

Where's Daihatsu ? how many daihatsu owners do you have as members? Is there not enough demand for a Daihatsu section. I feel left out lol. Theres loads of them on the road and at first glance at Mub Club this might put Daihatsu owners off from joining as they may think that you dont cater for Daihatsu owers?.
Hey justinmud, i have a daihatsu!
Im proud of my old girl. She pulled my 32 ton grab lorry the other day, couldnt't believe it
-
Rock,
As you can see above, I have a Fourtrak too, but there really isn't very much happening with them at the moment.
I think justinmud has sold his recently, I got mine in November but haven't been out with it yet.
There was a Daihatsu forum but it wasn't used much and got mixed in with the "Not anything Listed" area, It has been said that if there is enough interest it could be re-instated, so keep using it.
-
I nearly bought two a while back
Then she slapped me and told me not to be silly

I would like a esction for this catergorie :)
Because i might be getting one soon 8)

I would make use of the section having just bought mine, and with regards to breakages, after fitting a new starter to my SJ yesterday, I now have to take the main cog box out to free off another broken release bearing, so in the past year I've bought
4 x mt's (needed to play)
Alternator
Starter Motor
Exhaust
Hood
Clutch (Std)
Clutch (Std)
Clutch (KAP PAddle)
Release Bearing
Release Bearing
To Buy
Release Bearing
Surely Its How You Abuse Them That Counts......
I'm not complaining, I give 125% everytime out and therefore she's heavy on parts.... The 4T will be better looked after, even if its just because all the bits are heavier, don't think I'll have both cog boxes out in 40mins on me back on the drive alone! but I guess I'll find out soon enough....
sorry to ramble on but:
I wish I'd gotten in to this years ago, I'd have saved a fortune on grage bills for other cars!
My lovely wife (incase she reads this) says if its for play, if I break it I must mend it! no garages, obviously working at one helps!
-
I've just relised the Isuzu section is not really that busy :?
So get this section up in running if the Isuzu is there !
-
My Range Rover has a Diahatsu 2.8 td in it so can I play here as well?
And does anyone know if it is possible to stick an intercooler on the turbo of a non-intercooled engine - or is there any other trick to getting more power out of it?

So you bought a frontera instead ha ha ha ha ha lmao
-
Yes i have sold my fourtrack only because my wife is expecting our 4th child, i now have a nissan terrano 2 lwb 7 forward facing seats, keeping it japanese they dont need so much wd40 but im looking for another fourtrack just to use off road, reason for picking fourtrak easy and cheap to lift extend the shackles and do a body lift and your done. or i might get a 90 defender dont know yet or a vit or sj
-
A Daihatsu section would be very welcome and may encourage more owners to join the club, the problem with it not being used much is down to the fact its not a Land Rover so we don’t constantly need advice putting it right
-
nice one popoff i think we should get our own section the pole speaks for its self 66% of votes 32 people thats enough to open a section for daihatsu owners in my eyes. Ive posted a reply in the questions to see if there going to put daihatsu on or not so we'll see
-
new member here with a daihatsu. would be a good idea for our own forum area methinks! go for it
-
Can I retract my previous NO vote and substitute for a YES on account of my latest purchase ?
and if anybody has a set of early Grand Vitara 16" alloys I could be your new best friend.......
-
Hi im still ere iv got a landy now series 3 as you can probably see by my new avatar, theres just something about the old series iv had 4 now including this one, i also have an 04 Fiat ullysse to cart the missus and kids about its not brill but hey , but im gonna get a 2.8 td diahatsu engine for my series as the 2.5 thats in it is not that good (slow as a snail) ,but i still love it, i miss the Japanese build quality though in both my forms of transport Italian and British but series you got to love em :) oh and the poll speaks for it self 67%
-
I can do you a very good price for a 2.8 Daihatsu TDX engine if you really want one.
All you have to do is take the rest of it away as well.
The sills are as rotten as a pear and the gearbox is off, kept jamming in reverse so I pulled it to bits only to find the scrappy one was different and while I was under there spotted how rusty the rest of it was and have just about lost interest.
It has tax and test if you wanted to tow it but you'll need to bring some wheels as I'm keeping the mud tyres.
One day I might keep a Daihatsu long enough to MOT it.

new sporty owner ithink we need our own space
