Title: ONE LUMP OR TWO ?
Post by: banditman on February 27, 2005, 10:34:51
Due to the innards of my gearbox wanting fresh air yesterday, I now need to remove it....

Question is, will engine and box come out together through the front, as it will kind of force a V8 project if they will....

Current engine is a V6 Ford and it's a 1972 SWB if it's relevent

Cheers

Glum from Rossendale

Have a feeling the gearbox will only come out through the cab with seatbox removed.
V8 - go on - you know you want to
Is the V6 up for grabs :-k

A lot depends if you have a removable gearbox crossmember... if you do, then it will all come out easily.

S'pose I could make the crossmember removeable eh  :D

Looks like it's coming out in bits then, but coming out it is, as I am now totally committed to sticking a V8 in it....

So much so, that I must apologise to Andy for not catching his post first, but I have now stuck it on a certain auction website....

Mind you, it starts at £70.00 so if you were to be the only bidder......which is possible from experience........

If your going to take the engine and gearbox out, now is the time to make a removable cross member.  Well worth the effort. :)  It's not difficult to do, but measure up before you take anything apart.

Any advise on how to do it Stormin ?

Got about 10 different unfinished projects rolling on this now (like winning a V8 Engine in bits which now wants building on top of it all !!)
