I took my landy out for a spin today and AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS ON on the motorway managed to kill the big end on my series 3 2.25 diesel. Its now time for a new one so i was thinking of asking you guys which way to go and what sort of price i should be paying for a reasonable nick 2.25 or any better upgrade you can suggest, so any help anyone could offer would be greatfully appriciated

hey cheers for the info ill keep that petrol in mind im really wanting to stick with a diesle just for economy's sake but i could go for that little bit of extra power i think whatever i do im gonna have to ask the insurance and see what the difference will be i guess the petrol shouldnt make too much if any as its still a standard engine

Try the 2.5NA diesel. Apparently far better than the 2.25 diesel.
However the 2.25 would be far better than both (apart from economy!)
