Title: Back to Mitsubishi
Post by: Ballo1000 on March 31, 2008, 21:00:17
I am getting rid of the Range Rover and i am picking up a Pajero at the weekend. After going from Nottingham to Hull and back at the weekend and it costing £50 in fuel not to mention the unreliability i have bought a 1992 2.5td exceed. I used to have a Mk1 Shogun and i loved it so i am looking forward to picking up my new toy.

 To be honest it was just an excuse now the wife it out of ear shot. Range rover to unreliable and petrol. Now i have a diesel i can educate my sons in the joys of going into deep water  already looking for a snorkel and breather set.

I'm toying with the idea of a SWB Paj/Shogun instead of the Landy. Don't get me wrong the Landy is reliable as it's Diesel and a genuine Defender 300 engine but my back keeps telling me that I need something more comfortable  :D.

I used to have a SWB 2.8 Shogun and I loved it but it was the wife's daily work car and she was always frightened that it would be goosed one Monday after an off road outing.

With petrol being cheaper than Diesel I might be persuaded to go for a SWB 3.0 24v as from what I remember I only used to get about 22mpg out of the 2.8 Diesel. I also am lead to believe that the 3.0 has a Diff Locker on the back axle.

Come on guys, persuade me to go back to the 3 diamonds and away from the green oval

I own a 3.5 GDI petrol and as long as you keep the foot off the gas you can get around 28mpg.

But the thing still kicks down at 90
