Post by: deepender on December 02, 2007, 20:30:29
I have a chance of a "W" reg ex radio car, full length soft top, 24volt,which is very straight and solid. The seller wants appox. £400, is it worth it??

If it is rot free on the chassis and bulkhead .......YES...... the 24v system can be a pain if it goes wrong but it aint expensive to cnvert to 12 v or join the EMLRA (ex military Landrover Association) and there are plent of people on there that can assist sorting it out, other than that, its the same as owning a Civvie series 3.

Cheers for that mate, as i say, the whole thing looks very solid, and is showing 53K, which i think is genuine, it has also been painted at some point in both desert and forest camo, so might of had an interesting history. All panels, including the tub, the front and rear bumpers are dent free, and the canvas is also free of tears, i might give it a go.

Might have been in reserve for a long while if it's that good.  Shame it's not tax exempt though, but £400 is a nice price.
