does anyone know where I can get military stuff for my series III FFR , i.e. radio gear and special military stuff

You could try Anchor supplies. I don't have a URL to hand but I'm sure a quick google will turn it up, or someone else will be along with it.
IIRC they are in Derby / Nottingham area so not too far away.
