Title: '71 2 door window slides
Post by: Ged4x4 on March 22, 2009, 22:10:47
Hi guys, i am a new member and this is my first post. I have 3 range rovers at the moment which should be detailed in my signature. One of them is a '71 2 door which is rough around the edges but quite solid. I have a problem with the side window slides, they aren't there any more! The guides are still there as they are made from stainless steel but the runners on the bottom of the windows has almost completely corroded away. i removed the side windows as the runners were so rotten the windows would have fallen out eventually anyway. I was thinking of getting some new slides fabricated from stainless steel but thought it a better option to try here first for some original ones! So, the bottom line is, i need some window runners, any ideas where i could get some? I have tried everywhere i can think of online but can't seem to source any..

any help would be greatly appreciated, can't wait to get this old beastie on the road!

i have managed to track a set down. The slides themselves are £16 each, the rubber that go on the bottom of the glass are £2 each and the sprung steel clips that hold the slide to the rubbers that they slide on are £7 each.. So to renew the whole lot would cost £64 excluding postage..
