I am going to Sweden for my holiday in the Disco,
The objective it to find a nice bit of woodland by a lake, pitch a tent and chill, taking in a few sites on the way and moving about a bit over a two week stay.
Anyone been to Sweden on a similar trip can give me a few little gems. That would be great???

yes i have, pretty much drove straight through and into Finland but its worth stopping at a place called Braehaus( its a lovely service station that has its own sweet making shop where you can watch them making sweets and you can also cross under the road and visit a castle ruin and its a great view over this massive lake thats about 50miles long and the islands worth a visit too not sure where you catch the ferry to it but i remember spending a night camping there ! - its on the E20 (the Helsingor -Stockholm road)

if you get far enough north in Norway, Trondheim is a lovely city

Bit late on this one but I think the town making sweets is Grenna just north of Jonkoping where I work (for a few more weeks)
The lake is Vatern (Swedens second largest lake) and the Island is Visingso on which there is a fantastic restaurant.
Ferry is taken from Grenna

A few of us made the trip to the Swedish Land Rover Club 20th Anniversary event last August.
The event was based here.
You can camp or rent a log cabin (large shed )

Drove from Northern border with Finland down the coast of the Gulf of Bosnia , through Stockholm and across to Helsingborg , Malmo and the Oresund bridge into Denmark last year , depending where your sailing into any of these places are worth a visit , Jonkoping has a "mediterranean" feel .
Enjoy it .

Just back from Southern Sweden about an hour and a half east of Malmo.
We travelled Harwich - Esbjerg rtn. Much easier than driving up from Dunkerque
I think the West-Mids crew were on board as we were ambushed by Pirates in the restaurant.(2 Bottles of Bud and 2 Buffet meals £58-00) :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed: :pirate: :D :D :D :D :afro:
If i could summon the courage next time i go i won't be coming back 8-[

You'd have to shout loudly, as Children of Bodom are from Finland ;)
