Title: Rear halfshaft / Bearing

Hi can anyone please help me I noticed i was losing oil in the rear diff and have seen the oil on my rear wheel I have got the drum off and undone the cylinder but cannot get the shaft out can anyone tell me how that shaft comes out.

hey baz ,remove the four centre bolts that hold the back plate on,remove backplate(let it hang on the shaft) and you will see axle end.i made a slide hammer to fit the studs but if you hav,nt got one bolt an old wheelrim to the studs and keep turning it and hitting it from behind in different places ie top,bottom left and right this should dislodge the shaft assembly .keep it jacked quite high on this side to stop oil running out if you han,nt drained the diff.hope this helps.

 Normally with great difficulty and normally accompanied by a great deal of swearing......
