Does anyone have any advice for me before I take the jigsaw to the bobtail (such as "don't do it")? I reckon on chopping about an inch at the lowest point and then cutting radial lines about 3/4" long and bending back to make a lip. I'm trying to make a bit more room for the 265/75R16 Dirt Devils before they completely mangle the arches.

I went for 235/85 MT's on my bobtail but
on atriculation they touched the back of
the rear wheel arch.

I took the jigsaw to it and removed the
bottom part of the arch off all four wheel
archs. (About 1" all round)

These are the bits of archs that were removed.

This is one of the finished archs trimed with
mini rubber knock on sill trim.
235/85 fitted and never had them catch.
It's on a 2" lift BTW.

That's a good way of testing Paul. One thing I didn't mention though, and this is the reason for fitting Defender arches, is that the 265s stick out on the fronts by about an inch, making it somewhat illegal. The Defender arches are a totally diferent shape to the Range Rover ones, being squarer, so I shall have to trace the shape of them out first.

Fully understood, Think you might have a bit of work on your
hands fitting defender arches on a Rangie... Best of luck. :wink:

You could try some disco arch extensions like devon 4x4 sell. Saw a bobtail on ebay recently with these on. Looked good.

You can get them for a Rangie, Cost a bit though. :shock:

they are over £200 quid from devon. now that is expensive.

I've already got a set of Defender ones. I keep putting it off - cutting the bodywork about is a bit nerve wracking, I think I'll just go for it.
