My Mate has a p reg 4.6 HSE P38. The air suspension has stopped working.
The lights on the dash just flash at first, and then all stay on. It doesnt jack up at all.
I have checked the power to the fuse, and relay, which is good enough, but the compressor never runs. Is it likely to be the compressor or something else that is a common fault.
Is there any way of testing the system? Is it a common fault? Where is the best place to get a compressor? and how much?.
All help would be great. :D

I'd imagine the price of a new unit is more like a 'phone no. so I'd be ringing around the breaker's yards first, or convert to coils!

Check for power at the compressor... that might give a hint.
Could be the ride-height sensor, or the compressor, maybe even a control unit failure or the pressure switch.
There are known problems with the suspension system on the P38.
Compressor is about 280 quid
Pressure Switch is about 60 quid
Height Sensor is 50 - 80 depending on the model.
Hope that helps.

I dont think there is power at the compressor, but its hard to tell as it has a stupid thin plug arrangement. I will remover the compressor, and try it on a bench to rule it out. What is there between the comp and the relay?
There are three wires on the compressor Black, Green and a peach or orange colour. The plug which goes into the compressor, also has three wires. Black/purple and another colour, and a very thin Black/blue.
Where are the sensors located? and the pressure switch? :D :D
