Title: Injector pipes question.300 series Disco1
Post by: Blu on April 20, 2006, 11:37:23
I have a small fracture on one of my injector pipes, which is spraying oil all across my engine,I have monitored the amount of oil loss, and it is not significant at present, that is too say,as long as I keep an eye on it and to the front of my mind at all times.

Should I be really concerned about this or should I change the pipe in question immediately and should I change the whole set of 4 or just the one with the fracture?

If it's not how LR intended the pipe to work then personally I would repair/replace sooner rather than later especially before it starts to affect the running of the vehicle.
Starting from the front of the engine and moving backwards the part numbers are:
STC1694 Pipe 1
STC1695 Pipe 2
STC1696 Pipe 3
STC1697 Pipe 4
You shouldn't pay any more than a tenner for each one new (unless you know where the parts bin is!!).

Change it PDQ, the last ting that you really want is fuel being squirted in an engine bay when you also have hot exhaust pipes under there.

Okay,advice heeded,I travelled over to Cannock/Craddocks and purchased a whole set. @ £8.81 each or £7.50 + vat.

Many Thanks for the reply's & advice
