Ive a German Shepard and a Black Lab theyre pretty good at guarding the landies
-
i have an army of spiders, waiting to snare the unwary in their webs
-
I can add the Army Of Spider and Up it to Sharp bits of Rust and metal !
-
Yeah, sharp bits of rusty cold metal, slippery seats and switches that don't say what they do, so could quite possibly be destruct buttons! - well that's what my lad reckons
-
i know this will probebly give it away but my disco is no more now.....
in amougst the switches with no labels on i had 1 identical switch that was a little special. i had take power off the battery and through a fuse.....in to the cab to the switch and then down to the fuel pump solenoid..
so anyone wanting to start the truck would probably by pass the alarm but still not be able to start it.
now i have the v8 i will have to devise something equally crafty
-
that famous Solihull build quality and reliability protects mine.
-
currently... no fuel tank, no body, and a selfcontained area (caravans, construction yard fences, and a wall) protect my landie, at my parents home.
Eventually a few special home made devises... metal steering wheel, metal seat covers & 1000volts... if only
probably get a Meck Lock System Immobiliser, and modify it to fit series trucks, and maybe a few van locks, and other items from security storage... and some armored padlocks for fuel and engine bay

Thieves choose
Misses Honda S200
My Elise
My Freelander
My Shagged S3
I think the Landy is last on that list (unless the security on the others means they use the landy to drag them away! yikes good job im selling the trailer!)
-
Would a Kung-Fu Duck offer enough protection?

I do have GUNS, Bats and other instrements of pain

my Dog protects mine
its a rather large beast
-
spiders and when you close the door a load of water streams onto your head. :D sound familiar?
-
An axle stand protects mine.
(The engine is resting on it - no mounts, she ain't going nowhere!)
-
No gearbox stops mine from moving, and a GSD
-
Me :(vamp): :(vamp)::(vamp):

on my series iv got a hidden switch that cuts the negative fed on the coil nice to hav a lil extra security! also camo paint job so i can hide in bushes works well!
-
Well its Missing an Engine and steering so that makes it a challenge to move plus a savage sheep called lamb chop :)
-
Killer moss, plus half my gearbox is on the kitchen table.
Having said that, an irate housemate might just help a miscreant take my landy away :(

Not singling you out on purpose Lightweight-Love but....
Thanks for telling us all that, at least now if anyone on here is eyeing up motors to nick they know why yours wont start :)
CMON FOLKS DO NOT POST ANY OF YOUR GENUINE VEHICLE SECURITY MEASURES FOR ALL TO SEE!!!!!!!! not everyone on here will be on here for the right reasons :) and there are enough stolen Landy threads on all the forums.........especially if your signature gives scrotes a full list of the goodies they can EBay after nicking it :)
Cheers Steve

I WAS JUST THINking the same, i have a few crafty tricks, but im not gonna anounce them on here for the world to see, as im sure a lot of thieving towrags go through these websites!
only 1 i dont mind mentioning is 2 shotguns 1 a pump and more ammo you can shake a stick at, plus if you were lucky enough to escape that a nice rifle that will take you out at about a mile.
-
Mine protected by the fact that it takes about 5 - 10 attempts to start when not been run for a while, when it does start it sounds like a challenger tank and if the neigbour hears somebody trying to nick it he will come out and talk them to death!!!!!
-
If leaving it for a while, I just remove the coil lead and take it with me, or put it in my secret storage box
That's the Lightweight, the Range..... well I don't think I have anything special on that :P
-
When I finish the rebuild on a new chassis I intend having a quick release steering wheel so I can then keep that in the house or padlocked in the back to a big bracket.
Got the idea after watching Mr Bean

I SEE THat other thread about detachable steering wheels, that looks very interesting, might look into one myself, as you int gonna get very far with no steering wheel.
-
A mate of mine used to take his steering wheel off everytime he left the motor (he is a little bit ecentric!) but never used to put the nut back on when he was driving :-o He said he didnt have time.He is over 60 and drives at 40 mph and he didnt have time!
-
a lot of "today's" prepaired theives will carry spare steering wheels, to get rid of the annoying fact of the steering lock mechanism so many people think is unbreakable... obviously not lived in mount plesant in swansea...
-
Ok change of tact, i do NOT have a hidden switch! nope thats worse!erm.....
I had mine in leeds for a year and a half and the only abuse it had was some tyke snapped the CB aeriel off but left it behind so not too bad, other cars were stolen, windows smashed, one little citreon ended up on its roof. proberly a Respect thing!
Got few other secret security things too, but now will remain a mystery to you all!
Motion sensor alarms can be got very cheaply, easy to fit, wire into lights, air horns, side flame thrower its all good!
