Title: Nissan Dealer Gripe
Post by: Jap4x4 on June 23, 2008, 18:44:33
I have had my 56 plate X-Trail 2.2dci Columbia for 6 months,
Recently when breaking at speeds over 50mph the wheels started to woble violently.  Was advised that its possiably warped discs and I should contact my dealer, who should sort this under warranty as the although it is 2006 car has only done 12k miles.

However contacted Nissan-Camden they basically told me that I was not covered as these are wearable parts even though I argued that there is no way a disc should be that worn after 12k miles they was very short and unhelpful.

Has any one else ahd any simliar problems or have any advice here.  Am I worng to think that these should be covered?

Give trading standards a call, discs wearing out is one think warping is a completely different manner and should be dealt with under warranty.

Yep, try trading standards.

I friend of mine bought the higher spec x trail with the bigger engine (high ps I think) and they delivered he right car but with the wrong engine, nissan were adamant that was what he asked for and put the phone down, a long while later and a call from trading standards he now has a brand new car!
