Title: side step fitting

hope im in the right thread here

we bought our first freelander and wanting to put side steps on
we bought them with fittings and everything

but the problem is the nutserts and getting them in without turning round

husband has been tryin now for 3 weeks and losing his temper fast :roll:
is there a way any one can advise a good and quick way

Tripitaka did give us an idea on how to do them and said if we was closer to him he would do them  :D
pity he wasnt coz i sick of bangin legs on the stairs were he has put them

If you've put Rivnuts in and they're spinning it means you haven't squeezed them up enough. Sometimes you have to have two squeezes on the riveter handle to full clamp the panel.

We put side steps on ours, didnt think about them getting bashed and there bashed :lol:

May  be a silly question - but, have you got the tool for installing the nutserts?

well he has ended up taking it to garage and they have put nutserts in for him so im grateful for all taking ur time to help but am goin to ask another thread
