If I remember correctly, its 2700KG with a braked trailer 750KG unbraked.
Lower limit than some because its not permanent 4x4.

I used a mates to tow cars on his transporter a few times and it was always a pleasure to tow with, but if he had anything more than a normal car then he asked me to use my Discovery to do the tow, much safer and surer in foot!

Discovery, 3500KG towing limit, bomb proof engines and easy to work on.

Trooper.
3.5 and IFS so far more stable than a disco.

and cant tow...with loads of recalls....
we had one in the workshop with what was thought a small repair... ended up at isuzu having to have the engine replaced and the guy selling it as soon as he had it back!!
i will also say had them years ago with the engine being replaced so i dont think they have sorted the engine build on them...

Sorry, the 3.1 trooper with a 3.5 tonne tow limit.
It's legenday in it's reliability.
Keep away from the 3.0 though - hunk of crap engine.

ok but everyone we and i have had in the workshop has needed and has had a replacement engine.....i'm only going on what i know and what i have seen.
one that came in had every thing in the sump......and when i say every thing i do mean that!!! pistons, con rods, liners the lot!!!!......... to be fair it had no warranty left and isuzu did pay to have a new engine fitted but it's not good when you need it and it lets go

Yes, that's the 3.0, the injectors leak diesel into the oil. It's a known problem. The 3.1 is the direct injection version of the 2.8 which is a supurb engine.
Also you say everyone you have had in then reference 1 engine. Isuzu are standing by all of the 3.0's with run-on issues and replacing FOC - but still a hunk of crap engine.

Just thought id add my 2cents worth. I regularly use my 06 l200 to tow an ifor williams car transporter and have never had any problems. I would agree that a discovery would be better suited if your doing long drives through hilly areas. But the l200 is a very capable and reliable motor. Just be careful of the earlier models because they did have a few issues.
