Title: Clutch
Post by: Moose on May 15, 2004, 22:18:48
I sent the Disco if for a warranty gearbox main shaft oil seal and it came back with a clutch pedal that needs to be pressed within 25mm of the carpet to disengage the clutch.

I have taken it back, Bushbury re-bleed the clutch, but it is still not much better, and no way the same as before it went in.

Has anyone got any ideas of what they may have put back wrong

Could try reverse bleading it, works sometime, unless they replaced something in the clutch when they had the box off

a) try pushing down the clutch pedal & wedging it there overnight, a block of wood does the trick. make sure that the clutch fluid is topped up.          b) if the rear mains oil seal had been replaced, usually the clutch would have been contaminated with oil. so with that in mind & a reputable garage did the work! new clutch should have been fitted. { sometimes the friction disc is roughed up to clean off}                                                   but i would return the motor to the garage.  :D
