has anybody got a 3" body lift for an sj410 or where is the cheapest place to go and how hard are they to fit? going b&q in a min to see if i can get the stuff for a snorkle....
-
make a body lift out of box section, never done it but ive seen on sj's.
-
dude thanks but i wouldnt know where start ;) actually what would i have to do?
reason im asking is because i went for a play lastnight and batterd my underneath due to being standard height
-
well i would think it would be a case of cutting a section off the end, drilling both ends and then either put longer mounting bolts through or find some identical bolts to the ones you already have. theres probably someone on here thats done it
if not, dave jones at bits4vits sells a bolt on kit, link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suzuki-SJ-Samurai-2-Body-Lift-Bolt-on-No-cutting_W0QQitemZ140086176570QQihZ004QQcategoryZ10426QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

As your chassis , front suspension are all lower than the body how is a 3" body lift gonna make much difference???
3" is too much for the steering relay, brake pipes and transfer lever... your better off going for a 2" and then larger tyres to actually gain some ground clearance
Cheers Steve

Agreed 3" is just too much i have done a Diy using box section i wil have a look for a link....here it is

cheers guys bought a cheep 2" lift off ebay as i was told with the 3" i would need to extend brake lines etc..

hopefully will get them fitted a.s.a.p well before sunday, desperate now for some tyres as lastnite me n the missus went play up newcastle and nearly got stuck 3/4 way up this pretty narrow/steep bank! was very scary coming back down in reverse sliding all over the place but oh well was fun and basically its shown me what suki is capable of so i dont look silly offroad!

Stuck a 2" lift on my samurai complete with 31x10.5 tyres on 8Jx15 wheels. I extended the brake hoses to be on the safe side. This lifts the vehicle more than sufficient, but remember with only a shackle lift this pushes the leaf spring down a bit whilst putting the body up, in other words you still have lots of bits sticking down which will get caught up. Although it looks the part and performs well offroad it drives like a set of spanners on a dinner tray on the road, although I plan to trailor mine when completed. Hope you get on ok.

my advice, steer well clear of shackle lifts. They mess up the handling and will eventually ruin the leaf springs. They also wreck the approach angle, you will find on steeper sections they dig in........mention the "dragons teeth effect" to mosy zook guys and they will know what you mean.....

run it down mate we will soon lift it (fit v8, coils.48 inch tires.......)
