If you fancy coming up to Northants one Sunday, let us know, we can give you a guided tour of the county.

-
Perhaps the sheep dips blocked

It's very quiet though :?:

I let rip on the other one lunch time, my keep the head down approch failed.
Still I feel better now.

There's a few people lurking about.... It's just that all the noisy folk have gone on holiday ;-)

Colin.
-
Hi Colin,
That's great you can join us on Sunday, we usually start between 9 and 10am, so we'll meet you at say 10am, somewhere easy for you to find, how about Northampton Services on the M1, junction 15A on the northbound side?
We can go from there and do a reasonable route round the county, if you have any worries or concerns, let me know.
If that's ok, then we'll see you Sunday morning.
Anyone else want to join us, let me know, MR SHEEN????
-
Frank, as its the last Bank holiday weekend of the year we are going away from Saturday to Monday to the DOC camping weekend in Stoke-on -Trent. So will have to miss this one I'm affraid.
I know DOC, well we will see if I'm still a member come on Tuesday as I'm a bit dispondant with the club at the minute for obvious reasons but its a weekend away with the family so we'll give it a go.
Definatley come on one though at a later date as you seem to go out most Sundays :D
Have a good one
-
The Flag - The kingdom of Mercia - since I live in it's once capital. about as old as Lode lane I think.
-
Andy,
Thanks for letting me know, you have a great time up there at Trentham, don't get into any fights now!
-
Yes Chris, thanks for that bit of enlightenment, hmmm, worth the wait I'm sure
-
Erh... no worries Frank on my best behavour, I've got Mud-Club stickers on the motor now so have to set a good example and show them what a friendly bunch we all are
Cheers Chris, I can sleep at nights now knowing the answer to the flag :D
-
Bit quiet today as well!
We've just got back from the Town & Country Festival at Stoneleigh, nice day out, saw what appeared to be a Disco camping area - recognised a few of them there anyway.
The Landie content of the show seems to be falling off somewhat, we only spotted the ARC stand, the Range Rover Register and the Forward Control Register.
Plenty of ex-Military units tho :D
Anyone else done anything interesting today :?:
Chris W

Having a barby and getting drunk  may even have earnt the qualifications to get on the committee of another club
-
Now Now Brum Lee, thats a bit close to the edge :D :D
-

ooh what a bitch i am!
-
Time, Gentlemen please !
-
Yes, One Forum under attack only please.
-
Forum under attack where I cant see it, Oh i forgot i am playing two of the three wise monkeys this weekend bet you cant guess which two.
-
Ah I know which one you're not - the one sitting there with his thumb up his (oops) asking for a bit more time :P
-
Anyway Pete how was the Cotswolds?
I got the timing just wrong - was on the way home from Dorset with the trailer-tent which isn't really up to laning
Chris W
-
Chris,
The Cotswolds were good, arranged to cover 13 lanes. Had a total of 9 disco's show up. split into 2 groups a gang of 4 (Brum Lee  ) and a group of 5.
Group 1 covered all 13 lanes and no damage (Well some scratches)
Did a lane that hadn't seen traffic for well over 2 / 3 years.
Second group I am lead to understand missed out a few lanes
7 / 12 / 13 just to mention a few.
However Mr G. did have a play on lane 11. "It went down there, it'll come back up" I think someone has video of this act.
Anyway Chris I will run another trip soon, let me know if you want in !!
-
OOH yes please! Will try and arrange not to be busy next time
Can't wait for the graphic detail on this "It went down there" saying - looks like someone might be in for some ribbing on Saturday
Chris W
-
Chris,
I may be able to escape to the Bell on Thursday, are you going this time :? Pete, fancy raiding Chris's party
-
Yep I'll be there - definitely not in Scotland this week
Chris W
-
Yeah I wll try to come
-
Right it's a date  Be nice to catch up as we haven't met for some time now. 20:00hrs I presume :D
-
I'll get there for 8 anyway :!:
-
This Thursday - typical - out on bis, are we still on for the 18th :?:
-
Hi Chris
Yeah, Sept 18th at Moxhull Hall is still on for me. Problem is, if only you and me turn up who's going to be brave and take the post we are meeting to talk about   :?
-
I will be there on the 18th as well.
-
Well if I lived closer I'd come :D
Nice avatar on another forum Chris, like the wheels :D
-
Pencil me in for the 18th - may be a possibility of being in Edinburgh around that date but unconfirmed as yet.
Chris W
-
Will you be wearing the Ward tartan kilt and a sporon on Thursday as you've spent that much time in Scotland now you can case yourself as one of Braveheart's clan
-
Och nooooo!
Its Macdonald tartan anyway :P
-
F.A.O Brum Lee, Chris W70, Peter G.
Could one of you kind gents tell me where I find the "Bell pub",
So I may visit on Thursday night at 20.00hrs........The wifes let me out
cheers
-
It's in Coleshill, Warks. If you know the Police Station Island in Coleshill, you come off the island and head up the hill towards town centre and the Bell is on the left hand side on the brow of the hill. Chris will be able to give you the street name later 8)
Hope to see you there :D
-
Ah, Got my wires crossed - thought you ment Cannok, I am in Poole, may make it for late orders, didn't fancy the drive back to work ( cannock)
As to who takes over, Pete, did you speak to ?.
One things for sure, I am not taking it on. If we want to have a monthly pint with fellow LR enthusiast, then I will get a room, but nowt else.
-
If you make it on Thursday make sure you bring some earplugs, there's some foul mouthed landrover owners that go there that say that word you think should be banned, MUD. Whoops I'll was my mouth out
Hope to see you there and bring Pete and me a stick of Poole rock back with you, we've heard you can eat it on this atkins diet
-
Lee,
I know the pub, never been in just know it, saw a RTA outside it years ago.
See you tomorrow night
-
Lee, I am going to try to get back early, were is the pub again ? near the police station ?
If I send you a picy of my car can you put moosy in it please.
-
Hi Chris
The Bell is on the Birmingham Rd, between Stonebridge Rd and the High Street. The map below shows the Police Station island as a reference point.
If you email me the picture I'll see what I can do with moosy
-
Birmingham Road - here on streetmap (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=419877&y=289153&z=2&sv=419750,289250&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf)
Off the 42 at the NEC, bear right onto A45 for Coventry, stay in left hand lane to come down to Stonebridge Island (Malt Shovel on RHS) turn left at island onto A452 follow signs to M6, over M6 roundabout, over next roundabout (A446) down dual carriageway parallel to M42. Turn right at next roundabout (police station) up hill, The Bell is on left approx 100yds after zebra crossing.
I think :P
Chris W
-
OK so I was a bit slow with the typing - five posts between reading Pauls post and putting directions on :P
-
Chris W.
Thanks for directions,
Exactly same route I was going to use.
Have used this route many times over the last 13yrs that I have been driving trucks.
Are you attending the meet ???
-
It's Chris's local meeting with another club that we're crashing
-
Warks & West Mids Land Rover Club (http://www.davieslr.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/)
You all thought you'd come along as you'd heard it was a reasonable club to look further into
Chris
-
The guys we met the other month when we came a looking for you were real friendly, even invited us to their family weekend at Coney Green. Pete managed to go and said he had a great time.
So yes, we're coming to look for good company
