Title: Weathers changing.
Post by: Andy. on September 23, 2003, 20:12:13
Well its suddenly becoming darker on a night now-a-days with the cold mornings and chilly evenings upon us  :(

Had a mate at work today pull up in the car park and all of a sudden his car went flat, tried again and flat as a pancake. He took it along to the local motor store where they tested his battery, yep he needs a new one.

So its worth remembering that now we need our heaters on more, rear window heater and more lights on it might be worth checking out our batteries

Absolutely... battery efficiency drops like a stone with temperature.

Whilst you are at it, make sure you have a decent concentration of anti-freeze in your coolant, some fluid in your washer bottle and that your tyres are in good condition with plenty of tread.

Cheers,

Rain, wind. Ground frost forecast for tonight (I understand)
Soon be snow on the top of Holme-Moss.

You're in Yorkshire Andy, we should be used to the cold & the rain.
At least Lancashire gets it as well

you are of course making the rather obvious assumption that we have these devices fitted....

hmm...

"electric heater"... well, the fan is *almost* electric (if it worked it would be)
"rear window heater" ?!?!
"more lights" ...  Pishaw!  37 Watts is more than enough :)

on a more serious note..

Notice to all Series Drivers...  Remember that despite what it says on your stiickers, your vehicle is actually two wheel drive most of the time, and will handle like a complete fiesta on ice if you forget it...

Make sure that you have same pressures in all tyres and that free wheeling hubs are engaged and that sort of thing before you jump for that little yellow button :)
