Title: Lightweight hot brakes problem (late s3 dual master cyl)
Post by: Bob Ajob on April 24, 2007, 08:17:48
Hi all,

My mate with the lightweight has a bit of a braking problem. They work just too well! The PO replaced the master cylinder with the dual type from a late s3, although think was a new part.

The problem is whilst driving the brakes are coming on slowly. It got to the stage one day where he was coming home from work, and the brakes were so hot when he got home that the paint had all bubbled on the front wheels and is now peeling off.

Does anyone know how to rectify this and give 'normal' brakes from this setup?

Many thanks,
Rob.

Could this be a problem with the return springs in the hubs?

Or does this occur on all four wheels or one

The other thing to have a look at may be the return spring on the foot pedal, to see if its returning itself
