I'm sure someone will give it a good home!
-
looks a corker that one
should think they will be glad to see the back of it.
-
I suspect it may well have been involved in a prang, then shoved to the back of the storage area and forgotten about until now!
That said, it would be great if someone bought it and rebuilt it.
-
:-k what would it be like offroad? shorten the chassis! spaceframe
-
Looks more like a leyland DAF 4 tonner to me... :pacman: :pacman:
possibly they've changed the tender numbers around! :P
-
that DAF looks in better nick than some of our's at work

I think I herd once that there was an 101 ambulance (I think) still technicly in service for rescue training, in the bottem of a flooded quarry and used for diver training. If there is one there I can't emagine they'd ever bother demobbing it to sell, though theres probubly little point keeping the reg docs on the book eather, that said the army do some funny things.
-
there's a vampire still technically in service too, as part of a 3 vehicle crib.
Also there's an ambi being used as an ambi at some base or other.
-
I'm told the marines still have 6 DUKWs. I'll be in the queue if they ever come up for sale.

it says NI spec so i would guess they were in northern Ireland
-
Thats a "green Goddess" (I know its yellow!!) which is based on a Bedford Truck! its NOT a 101 [-X
-
When you look further into the catalouge it lists them as
59 Yellow Goddess NI.Spec.Ex.Reserve. RGC 779 1955 2400 mls
-
They were yellow so they wern't seen as British Army and blown up, there Bedford RL's The window grills were fitted for the last fire strike and they have no handles on the lockers they used a square key to stop thefts not that it worked

yes there still in service at Amphibious Training & Trials Unit at bideford devon ;) and in very good condition :D
-
I'd have thought the window grilles would be to deal with unfriendly reactions from the locals in some areas of Northern Ireland?
Anyone trying to film a post-apocalyptic adventure with zombies could do a lot worse than to buy a handful of those and repaint them. They already look pretty mean!
-
lol
looks like a gert big coach thats been turned into an ambulance to me

I know a man that bought one on a whim about nine months ago and has expressed an interest in selling it.
Drop me a PM if you are still looking for one.

Somebody has been changing the pic, it wasnt a coach when the thread started
Thought there was something different about it, it was known as a jumbulance, not neccesarily mil use, seen these for transporting various invalid/disabled people from kids to pensioners to holidays, basically a rolling hospital ward

that is defo Mil one as that one was based at the camp were im posted and belonged to Tactical med wing
-
God they've been round a while then now. It was back in the early 80s when I remember them
They were used to bring kids over to germany for holidays, and often used to be on camp there, the kids were dispersed round the families in the area for a holiday with them
Good to see them still in use, if a later version to what I remember but they still look the same

i really want a Ex rapier Landy so i think next year i may have to start a quest to find one or maybe a 101 :D :D :D
