Post by: Pablo011 on June 21, 2012, 14:29:05
It's maybe just me but having now got my Disco it seems the hi lo diff lock Knob is quite stiff to move and engage, is this normal ???

Thanks

Paul

Yes very normal they tend to seize through lack of use. Get under the car and give all the linkages on top of the gearbox a good spray with lube tho possibly not wd40.

Thanks, and I take it like a series 3 you drive normally in High range for normal driving and diff lock off, and only use diff lock when needed along with Lo range ??

Thanks

use diff lock at any time when loss of traction is likely - in either high or low range. (not just low as it seems you may of worded it)

Yes sorry does look like I have worded it wrong, but yes get you know, also while I am like a kid with new toy, my disco is the 300 tdi as opposed to a 200 tdi not sure what the difference is really but I am now wanting to fit a snorkel and just wonder what one to go for ???

Thanks

Paul

Some of the eBay specials are too brittle so get a proper branded one safari are good as are mantec also they will have hole templates in the box, much niceness.

if it is a 300tdi with ABS brake system then that is a consideration too when picking snorkel as ABs unit is in the way

edit: you already know this from other thread opps
