I don't know about proper, but it proper sounds nice, just needs some lovin (and the tappets doing, and points, and timiing, and possibly a fiddle with the carb)
Hey Andy, how did you get rid of the old paint, all by sander?
I've got some nasty thick red brush painted job, had a quick bash at the wing with some sandpaper, it's gonna take forever.
How did you get rid of your old paintwork, and how long did it take, and how many sheets of sandpaper (or £s spent).
Cheers

an electric sander should take it down nice, i even heard of someone useing an angle grinder lightly on an angle
-
i used electric sander and angle grinder to take it down
-
HI urm an angle grinder not a good idea tryed tht can go straight into the body if ur not carefull. was basically a job of a bit of white spirit for muck and stuff then some fine sort of sandpaper on electric sander for body. had army paint on wings wich did need rough sand paper...then some paint stripper and a wallpaper scraper was the best way.
-
you spray painted it?
-
no just some decent brushes, paint seems to dry good without leaving any marks
-
cool its come up well
