Title: 90 hi cap
Post by: lambert on December 07, 2011, 21:08:06
Hi all, as part of my on going insanity I'm looking into how involved a hi capacity version of a 90 would be to do? Many ages since one of the mags had a write up on one but I can't remember which or when. I assume a 130 rest tub would be needed as they are shorter than a 110 version but beyond that would it be mostly stock parts ie rear lower cab bulk head off a 110 and a few yrm outriggers for the back again off a 110 hicap?

Whaddaya fink and yes I know I'm mad but I'm happy.

A friend of mine made on years ago; got no pics though, sorry.

But in answer to your questions, yes, a 130 tub was used, with a normal 110 hicap "rear" bulkhead thingy (bit that the challenge truck boys use to give the flat rear end under the truck cab roof)

Not sure what brackets he used to mount it on the chassis though.... the rear crossmember brackets may end up in the wrong place under the tub, but they're only thin plate, so cutting and welding them to the right shape wouldn't be difficult at all.

Would look a bit like the AgRovers of the '80s.... nice!       Get a decent set of tractor type tyres or Simex's and you'd have a handy truck.
