Just interested in the options for 110s

bearing in mind the exsiting overhang

Interested in what people run

Been thinking about it myself what I've found so far

Have an option for rear mounted winches but this may be a problem if your worried about rear overhang.
 Upto 12000lbs low profile winch but cost £350 +winch
External Mounting requires low profile winch if you require your rear door or tailgate to open

I have seen recently on E-Bay a rear winch mounting kit that fitted in the back body just behind the door (tailgate) you would need to have door open to use it and if you have family getting in out regularly they would have to climb over.  Was for 90 i think any. fitted any large winch

 The Real Tomb-Raider (the one in the film) had a smaller winch on the rear 3000lb I think and simply mounted on a plate bolted to the rear cross member using tow hitch bolting holes. The smaller winch I believe is because drove in you shouldn't need to move mud as well as a vehicle when you are winching yourself out.

if your going through the trouble of fitting a rear winch then do it properly and fit a decent winch that wont let you down

perfect winch to go into the rear is a huskey, they virtualy indestructable, and is the perfect rear winch do to having no break, the break is the gearbox itself
so you can lower out allday long

as for mounting wise, not sure how much space inbertween rear crossmember and tank but off top of head youll need around 10 inches to fit a huskey, unless you fit it in the rear load bed

lots of options, just deciding which to go for

yeah lots of options.

maybe one of the easier ones is to move the tank and fit a 90 tank
will continue to look about
but the ep superwinch has external brake so no plasma melting when lowering

cone breaks ware out quickly when lowering out alot

huskey is the best for lowering as there simply isnt a break

Devon 4x4 do two types of rear winch mount, one that fits on the rear bed and one that mounts between the chassis rails. Not going to be cheap though.

Yeah i've heard the same for husky and always thought it made the most sense

i used to have a huskey bolted to the rear, take if from me, nuffin can touch it for lowering out, only changed to match both winches to swap spares ect ect
