Title: Range Rover 2.5 with BMWengine glow plugs

Hi Ihave a n reg Range Rover with the BMW engin and there is no power to the glow plugs,can anyone tell me where the relay is,and also is there a control unit,if someone as a wiring diagrm that would be great thanks mike

The same thing was asked a copule of weeks ago.

Take the pattery cover off adn behind the battery is a vertically mounted plastic box witht eh lid held on by two screws. This is for the Engine ECU (you can see the multiplug going in) and the Glow plug relay is also in there.

I have read somewhere that the duration for the heater plugs operation is controlled buy the coolant sensor in the block and the air temp sensor on the inlet manifold,a quick test to confirm the plugs are ok would be a direct live from the battery to the first plug that's connected to the loom,if the engine fires up after say 15/20 secs of being bridged this way then the plugs are not at fault
