Ive got a wine on my 200tdi 110 . only appears at about 60 65mph .
bearings arent bad ive recently changed on but I had a ook underneath tonight when i got home and the t case was really warm if not hot
I had just done 50miles mainly motorway at about 70mph
if some one gets a chance can they see after a run if there t case is a bit on the hot side, ive checked the oil and i had to top up with the usual drop but nothing major
-
meant to say its only under load. i had thught it was the front diff as lots of back lash in it and the t case is only 1 year old ish
-
transfer box, gearbox and diffs all get warm when being used, even around town
-
Mine gets very hot if towing on motorways etc.....worryingly so.
-
That's why early RRC had an overheat warning lamp on the T-Box
-
thanks for that not having a defender for a long time, i cant remeber these things.
I will remove the front prop sunday to confirm the diff as i can dip the clutch and the noise goes so i suspect diff over wheel bearings.
Cheers again

Where do you think all the heat comes from through the seatbox. On mine before I fitted a RR handbrake you could get burnt on the heat.
