Title: N York moors
Post by: tonycougar on July 10, 2006, 23:13:18
Took a trip up Osmotherley today, I was thinking of driving the lane up from the sheepdip, but bottled out when I walked it. (Me thinks that is one you don`t do on your own). Nevertheless I went round and did the drovers road took a wrong turn and ended up temporarily misplaced (lost). Obviously found my way again. Good drive though.
Remembered the camera this time, but only thought to take a picture once. I was gonna go back the way I came and take some, but like I said, got misplaced :D

That's the one that goes through to (essentially) the top of Sutton Bank isn't it?

I'm given to understand that it is (or was?) blocked by fallen trees somewhere around the point marked as Steeple-Cross (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=452000&Y=489000&width=700&height=400&gride=443027.900205533&gridn=482220.169794658&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&upleft.x=3&upleft.y=2)

Thats the one, but like I said I got temporarily misplaced and I now know I turned left down the ORPA a bit before that.
It could well be blocked at steeple-cross, I didn't get that far

I am up for doing that lane if you want another truck to tag along.

I usually go on a morning before I go to work and its usually a last minute thing, kinda like "hmm what shall I do this morning" then SWMBO asks me to get her something so I go a bit further for what ever she wants and tag a bit of laning on the end.

Was up that way this mornin, not the same lane. I was checking out a different one, but when I got to it there were loads of Bobblies crawling all over it (I think they were scouts or something, young uns anyway). That made me decide to leave that one and go up Ruddland rigg.
I'll have to try that first one another day, looked a bit dodgy to do on my own anyway.
