Surf forum is down, so can't search there :(
I'm going to lift my 4Runner by 2" (new rear springs) what is the largest tyre that will fit witout further mods?
I may be doing the 2" body lift soon, but I'm not convinced yet
-
If your runner has coil springs on the rear, then you can fit a pair of land cruiser 80 springs and get a 3" lift straight away, then you'll need to get + 3" shocks too.
Try here, it's the back up surf forum, you'll get the same info.

I've got the 2" springs, the 3" looked like the thin edge of a money wedge!
-
31's mate, you will need a 2inch body lift as well to get the clearance to fit 33's

my pick up is running on 31`s, i wouldnt really go any bigger as been a N/A derv, it would leave me with less grunt than a milk float....
although 33`s do look good!
(31`s cheaper size too!)
-
the runner is a turbo charged version mate, will run 33's quite well
-
..there you go!

Thought i would add to this thread to...
If you have a 3rd gen 4runner then the front end is running on torsion bars which will also need to be uprated to fit the larger wheels, or you will be removing various bits of tyre and body work when your off roading!
There are full 2" kits around for around £450.

All 3rd gen 4-Runners have coils front and rear.

Hi im runnin with 32" mud terrains on my Surf with no probs.

With a 2" spring lift and 2" body lift you can fit 33" tyres. To go 35" you'll need the 4" suspension lift.
The photo below shows my 2"+2" lifted Surf on 33" tyres parked next to a factory standard Surf.

Go on- you know want to do it!

Replacing just the rear springs with +2 inch springs wont lift the front 2 inches aswell. U would need to crank the torsion bars up 2 inches, which is the maximum u could go really on standard t/bars. There is no real need to upgrade ur torsion bars at all.

funnily enough i have a set of 31 x 10.5 R15s on silver 8 spokes... 2 tyres mint (camac terras) and too just legal (currently flat too, although this is possibly due to storage)
£50 with a free cup of tea when you collect from the durham area! ;)
