dropped the trusty stead off at my local garage this morning, got to work, got a phonecall...
aparently theres a great big nut. 12 sided, and he had nowt to remove it.
result is, now stuck with no way of efficently stopping! :?
anyone have the tool they could lend/sell or know a way round it/have a pic so i can describe problem to second local garage?

On the IFS truck you'll need a 2-1/8" BIG socket for removing the wheel hub nuts. Not sure if it's the same on solid axle but I have one if it is required?

.however, its booked in for tomorrow morning elsewhere, so hopefully they will have something in stock!

yay, now have functioning brakes!
nut wasnt the full extent of the drama tho, discs were 6mm smaller (in diameter) and the callipers wouldnt take the pads! = nightmare!
managed to re-build callipers to take the discs and pads, so should all be straight forward next time round! 8)
