Title: 3.9 exhaust
Post by: Range Rover Blues on February 18, 2005, 23:32:50
Ok, Our car is a 3.9 manual, retro fitted, but definitely a 3.9 exhaust, it's huge.  I'm breaking a 3.5 auto and other than the diameter of the pipe I've noticed that the crossmember on the auto is different, it's square and goes under the exhaust whereas ours is tubular and is cranked at the ends to go over the exhaust.

Now having bashed the exhaust greenlaning I'm thinking of fitting the auto box crossmember, which looks like it hangs a little lower, and letting this protect the exhaust, I might even make a skid plate for it (I've just saved about 10kg with the QT radius arms after all).

So, are the exhausts different between an Auto and a manual, or between a 3.5 and a 3.9?

Or are they different between ones built on a Tuesday and ones built on a Thursday, as is often the case with BL?

the 3.9 pipes are bigger diameter,i know that as i've compared them. Not sure about the auto manual differance though.
