The history of steorn

For many years Steorn has developed technology to help combat counterfeiting and fraud in the plastic card and optical disc industries.

Steorn is a word translating as 'to guide, direct and manage'.

The company has been instrumental in the development of core technologies that address counterfeit crime in areas such as plastic card fraud and optical disc fraud. The company has also provided forensic and expert witness services to British, Irish and international law enforcement agencies.

WONT GET MY DETAILS

If it is true, they will soon die.
The Oil industry/Govts. have killed all others that have done this, especially in the States.

I liked

Quote from: "The Loonies"
Steorn has decided to publish its challenge in The Economist because of the breadth of its readership. "We chose it over a purely scientific magazine simply because we want to make the general public aware that this process is about to commence and to generate public support, awareness, interest etc for what we are doing."

In other words - no peer-reviewed scientific journal would accept it.

Here's a copy of the patent if anyone is interested.  It's only the low energy magnetic actuator, and not the core technology, but may shed some light for some people.

SteornPatent.pdf (http://www.horness.com/pdf/SteornPatent.pdf)

Wonder if it's similar to this (http://www.rexresearch.com/christie/christie.htm)?  Make sure you read the closing test results at the bottom of the page.

I'll believe it when I see it.  In the meantime, I'm stilling filling up with Diesel every week.
