In our constant efforts to get the name of the club around, it would be a great help if you could let us know how you found the club.
Please select the option which best applies
It'll only take a click... Many thanks
-
Been here since day 1, along with a few others.
I was e-mailed about it, on that day, or just prior to its conception by Andy.
I'm constantly trying to recruit members from the 'T&T' link in my signature block below
-
hmm how did i find it?
well i lifted the brussel sprout and there it was!
seriously though been on here for a long while now.. dont know how long the site had been running before i joined
-
About a couple of hours looking at that date. :D
Ed
I think it was advertised on alt.fan.landrover or uk-lro by Neil
-
Hi All
I saw the ad on ebay and a mate told me about it (MZ6666) so can I vote twice ???? :D :D :D
ps. Why not have a poster with the club logo and details on it on the site so we can print them out and put them up in the local 4x4 shops ??
The one near me is well up for it :D
-
I found it under the gooseberry bush, hope its not as troublesome as the kids I found there :)
-
Was told by a nice chap by the name of Neil :D
Once a member just had to tell someone about this great new 4x4 forum that I had just joined, so I told BTM :D and a few others.
Are we having a birthday party when the club's 1 year old :?:
P.S.
Since I've joined I've made many good friends, attended club events and even got muddy, oh and also spent far to much time online 1403 posts worth :D
So many thanks to the small group of people who had the idea and went ahead and did it, without them we would all not be here
-
Yep, know EXACTLY where you are coming from, made it to space cadet in just over 5 weeks!!
Good set of lads that can certainly give as much as they can take :)
Good advice is given too with the right mentality
The only thing is, they mostly seem to drive Landies!!! :) and now we have another one :)
-
Andy,
We are hoping to have a birthday bash.... once Mr Brownlee returns from sliding on a plank down a hill, discussions will start in earnest..
-
made it to space cadet in just over 5 weeks!!
There's still plenty of time for promotion Cadet! :)
(Wonder when Andy gets made a Captain, or an Admiral :?:)
-
Thankyou Commander :) he he he
Seriously, it is a good place to be and I am enjoying it here, very sad!! :)
Also found a couple of forums more specific to the Shogun, but unfortunately, you lot are stuck with me, cos there is better banter on here :D
Anyway, back to the spud peeling for insolance to my officers!! :)
-
Come on Robbie.
If you're like me you'd have chinned anyone that dare to call you a Space Cadet before you joined Mud Club :D
I thnk you'll find that us Landie owners look in on the Suzuki topics but it's difficult to give an opinion on something you're not experienced in.
Now if it was the Panda 4x4.
Did I really say that..........
Ed
-
Hence the spud bashin' :) and the quantity of posts, I'm trying to get out of the 'cadet' stage :)
With regard to the suzuki forum, I dont knwo what I am on about either, but I stick my two penneth in :)
Have a go, they will only put you right if you get it wrong :)
-
i cant remember how i came across the site
must have been a link somewhere :D
-

(Wonder when Andy gets made a Captain, or an Admiral :?:)
Hmm........... like that idea Richard, about time I moved up the ranks a bit
Robbie, just keep posting one day you'll make sense to someone :D
-
It might make sense to me too perhaps !!!! :)
and even when no one knows what I mean, I know that I think that at least I know what I should be meaning, so if there is any interpretation in the understanding at all, then it must be from someone else and not me as I always know what I mean.......
If you know what I mean :)
-
I know wot u mean
then again
DM :)
-
I thunk I knew what he meant!! :?
DiddleI?
Ed

if i remember right andy told me about the site whilest on a nother one but dont gothere any more :D i prefer this one

-
Where was that again Sub
Have'nt been on there for a while now, I'm sure in time our paths would of crossed up at Whitworth as well, see you there on the 28th mate
-
My turning up here is that Tim Burt's doing. So you can blame him. :D
-
:-)
Hi Norm,
Nice to have you along. Mrs Muddy says hello ;-)
-
Ahhh! That's nice. :) Tell Short and Sweet I'm looking forwrd to a cuddle at Driffield.
-
It's all your fault I'm here too Tim. You were right about it being a bit lively.
-
Hi Karloss.
Are you local???
I see Wakefield under your avatar. .
-
Hello,Yes and no. Local, yes, Wakefield, no. I actually live in Clayton West. But everyone's heard of Wakefield. If you tell people you live in Huddersfield they feel forced to ask you about football. I think Huddersfield must have had a team at some point. :D I read one of your earlier posts about taking someone to the airport you mention a BOAT around holme moss somewhere, "stokes lane"? You don't have some more details do you? I know the area quite well but can't picture any cottages. I use a lane up there now and again that runs alongside Yateholme res but I don't think your on the same lane.
-
Tim
i see from the poll that seeing stickers on cars isnt a good way of the club being recognised. - really suprised
It must be that there isnt enough out there - maybe we should promote these a little more!
now can i have a cheap set please ;-)
mine are getting grief and are a little weathered - see below (another one for the album)
any ideas?
Dave
-
FAO Karloss;
Sorry I don't wish to hi-jack the topic, but it's Ramsden Lane that leads off the lane around the base of Holme-Moss (Holme Woods Lane/Kiln Bent Road?)
It shoots off up to the right opposite the cottages (terraced) with the Peacock living there (at OS ref; 110/116 053), that's just after the sharp right turn off the dam of Riding Wood reservoir.
Know Clayton West as some friends live on Park Road, used to pass through it every week on the bike, or whilst going up to the Dunkirk Inn or the Fountain at Ingbirchworth.
We had our wedding reception at Bagden Hall at Denby Dale as well
-
Thanks for that Richard. Sorry to hear of your affliction!! ( having friends in Clayton :D I'm an interloper myself.)
-
Can't you be arrested for that?? :)
No, not being an interloper, living in Wakefield :D :D :D
-
I don't think it's Illegal so much as immoral
-
Hi!
I've just realised I lied in the Poll!
I said I found it via Search Engine, but akshully I was looking for Snorkels on ebay!
-
Disgraceful behavior...
Right !!! That's it... we have to start all over again
-
hye, no fair... which option am I supposed to tick ?
I don't see a "came back from the bar with a pint for nelly, dave and susan and walked into the middle of the wrong conversation" option ;)
-
OK, OK I'll start again!
I found this wonderful site whilst looking for snorkels on ebay!!! :D
btw I'm 21(ish) and a Scout Leader from Bournemouth
I'm the very proud owner of a 1980 Series III 109" FFR ex-military.
Been a LR fan for many years and now have one. Best thing I've ever done I used to renovate Morris Minors with my Dad ( we had 300 at one point) and have also had Austin A30 and there is rumours of an Austin Ruby somewhere (oh and a Sopwith Camel - but that's another story!)
The Scouts loove bombing around the place in the LR but not too keen to help with the fuel costs :?
-
hello, don't let our light hearted banter upset you :)
Welcome to the club, pull up a muffin and sit yourself down ;)
-
pull up a muffin and sit yourself down
We eat those round here!! wouldnt want to eat a squashed one :D

-
My Landy had a sticker on the rear window when I bought it!
-
How did you find Mud-Club ?
I didn't, it found me. Happily sitting outside my Caravan on a warm summer evening sipping a Pina Collada (Made by Tetley) when dozens of dirty, filthy Land Rovers decended on me and set up camp in a circle around me.
First came one, so I said to the Wife "Oh look, a LR owner, better make him a cuppa"
Then came another, and another, and another and, and, and...
It turned a perfectly relaxing weekend into and even perfecter, green laning, Tixover mudddy weekend... Mud that I still can't get off by the way :)
Loved it.
-
First came one, so I said to the Wife "Oh look, a LR owner, better make him a cuppa"
Cant remember if I said thanks for the cuppa!! cheers to the missus as well :D
But your were gald now we found you :)

But your were gald now we found you :)
You most certainly did and I most certainly am. I liked the way you duped me into getting my shiny new 110 muddy and didn't dip a toe yourself that weekend :)
It was great fun though. Must get some more stickers, some bast**d broke into my car a few weeks ago and smashed the window my sticker was on.
They didn't get anything though, don't you just love factory fitted cat one's
-

Via a Landy owner
-
Well I saw a couple of nice looking Discoveries at Driffield sproting a discreet splat behind the rear wheel and typed in the web address when I got back into work. Seems I'm in the minority though (only 4%). Perhaps the HUGE splat I have in the post for the bonnet will even things out a little.
-
I "found" the club at a pay and play day at sibbertoft speaking to the owner of a blue 410 (sorry really bad with names asked him about the website on his truck. Rob
-
I was looking for green lane routes in the Snowdonia National park when I came across your site and thought I'd give this chat thingy ago.

Had a few landies over the years but never got into off roading cos of time and lack of dosh...........Now the kids have all left school decided i'd get into the mud..........Trouble is it's no fun on your own, so asked google for some suggestions and here I am. Liked the bit about no commites and the whole informal thing. Hope to meet some of you soon and justify the £100 worth of pressure washer sitting in the shed

-
Hi Lee,
Glad to see you haven't given up all your club activity :!: :!:
-
Hi Alan
As I voted "Some other strange and mysterious way" on the topic poll I'll explain.
Mud-Club was born from what is happening elsewhere as we speak, but Mud-Club has moved a lot further forward by listening to what it's members want  8)
-
I guess I'll stick with both until it all makes sense.
Anyway glad you are still around.
-
Lee, I second what Alan has said
-
Met a bunch of your members whist playing in the mud in Whitworth quarry, they pointed me here...
H
-
Hi H
If you want to go out and play, this is the place to be as there's always something going on. Whilst we were out laning yesterday we bumped into some GLASS members and one was also a MC member 8) Haven't been to Whitworth for a couple of years now but enjoyed my day there, some parts look like Morroco, kewl 8) 8)
-
Search engine, i found it then forgot about it and rediscovered you when my truck was been temperamental. Now i appear to be hooked and the truck is behaving (touch wood).
-
My dad always looks for Tim at events, if he finds him he'll stand and chat for ages. We've known about the mc for a while, but I only just got off my arse and joined up.

I came across this site while looking for things for my kids four wheelers. We do not have a Jeep or off road SUV. We do however have some great OHV’s. We have a jacked up Ford on tractor tires, a 4x4 Polaris four wheeler, a 90cc Roketa (belongs to my 2 and ½ year old daughter) and a 110 Roketa (belongs to my 4 year old son) We get muddy in South Florida mainly and travel through out the state to different mud events.

I was looking for pictures of 6x6 Perentie vehicles using Google, seemed to throw this forum up as a possible.
I've usually had nothing to report on the Disco, although this year it's had Lambda Sensors, an ignition coil, and a 100Amp Alternator.
77,000 miles, 65,000 on LPG, currently paying 39.3p/litre from the Countrywide Farmers Account thingy at 24/7 fuel stations, and getting up to 19mpg on LPG. Dirt cheap :D
-
Doh!
Someone highlighted in a private message that I hadn't properly explained the mention I made of 'Countrywide Farmers Account thingy', read all about it from here:-
http://www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/energy/autogas.htm
Sorry for that lapse.

Registered sometime back after hearing all about it from a mate after he joined up. Went over to Welford with him one day and got hooked ! Never laughed so much in my life...Nervous laugh though ! LOL.
Some of the local boys will have known him as MUSKIE now happily living life as a KIWI in NZ.

Lucky it wasn't the other type of strange men that approach you when your sitting minding your own business !!!! Exactly as the Guy i got my Rangie off found out on his way home back to POMPEY after stopping for a short break. He wasn't amused but i was helpless when he rang me to tell me. Said he'd never been so popular !

I was waiting for recovery with my newly bought and broken td5 :x and was "recovered" by Hissy  . He told me about mud-club - seemed like a good idea - especially for "advice and guidance" on broken td5's.
Also, if Hissy was representive of mud-club members, then it's defiantly a great club to be part of.
-
I've always been here.. lurking.. only coming to the surface when something goes wrong!
-
I found Mud Club by giving Google a ganders for 4x4/off roading clubs, and yours cropped up! You all seem like a happy bunch soI'm glad to be apart of it!
